OMG GUESS WHO'S STORY HIT OVER 1K?? I'VE NEVER SEEN ONE OF MY STORIES HIT A THOUSAND HOLY FUCK!!! Thank you for reading!

Sorry, this took a while I've been sick with the worst head cold I've gotten this year and studying for finals. A nasty combo.

Also, this is short. Oops.

Aella and Maya sat in her room, talking about anything and everything that normal girls were supposed to talk about. Her room was what you'd expect a prison cell that made the effort to look comforting to look like. Of course, Maya was the little ray of sunshine that at least attempted to see the good in everything, so the sad room had a touch of decoration to it.

After attempting to find conversation, they resorted to "Maya and Aella talk."

"You and Jasper, huh?" Aella teased.

The girl's face went red as she said, "I dunno. Maybe?"

"You're good for him." She patted the girl's shoulder in a surprisingly not awkward way. "I'd say he's good for you since he was able to bring out the revolutionary in you, but I think that's just part of your nature."

"Don't get sappy on me now," she joked.

"Oh no. I must be rubbing off too much if you've adopted my sense of humor!"

She just giggled before playfully shoving her friend.

"But seriously, you're a little sassy. I'm so proud!"

"Whatever. I'll flip the tables if you're not careful."

"Don't you dare!"

"So, you and Bellamy, huh?"

Aella shoved her face into a pillow before mumbling, "Yeah."

It was light-hearted and sweet, which is the type of conversation both of them needed. They didn't know that or want to admit it, but it was nice to have a friend from the other side since the perspectives were different.

"So, Maya, I know you're dying to ask me a question. Shoot."

Maya nearly blushed, but it wasn't about Jasper. She was so embarrassed, but genuinely wanted to know, "What's it like outside?"

"You want to know what it's like outside?"

"Yeah. I'm never going to take a bone marrow treatment since it's against my morals, so I wanted a very detailed description."

"I haven't been outside for a whole lot since I spent most of my life in space, but it's beautiful. It's overwhelmingly green, the sun brings down a comfortable amount of warmth on a good day, but never stare at it or stand out in it too long if you don't want to be sunburnt."

"Sunburnt?"

"Your skin gets red and peels off a layer or may blister up which kinda sucks, but knowing you, you'd squeal in excitement over your first sunburn before complaining about how much it sucks."

"I guess I would, wouldn't I?" she asked rhetorically before giggling. She didn't sound like a lovesick schoolgirl, but more like a genuinely happy person for once. Being inside and never feeling sun's waves of heat dance across her skin was pretty depressing. "What else is there to know?"

"The water is nice and cool and you could call it blue if it's in the right place. If it's in the place where I got bit by a giant mutant water snake, then it's kinda brown, but that's due to the dirt and stuff." She rolled up her shirt a little to expose the pink line that forever scarred her skin. "That mutant snake was a mean little sucker."
