Clarke Griffin and Aella Clarke formulated way too many plans to escape that ended with the same result: not escaping. They never put the plans in action knowing they had one chance to do it and do it right, so they were enjoying some free time in the dining room when the alarm went off.

Maya and Jasper disappeared, so the two girls followed them alertly, abandoning their banter in pursuit of the Mount Weather loyalists.

"What's going on?" Aella asked Maya when she finally caught up to her.

"The surface patrol is back," she informed. "Someone needs medical attention and I need to get to quarantine."

Clarke and Aella pushed their way through the small crowd that gathered around the surface patrol guys.

"What are you doing?" Maya asked the two as they followed her.

"Maybe they found survivors," Clarke suggested. "If our people are hurt, we have a right to know."

"I'm pretty sure we shouldn't just go wandering around." Maya turned to one of the Mount Weather guards, she asked, "What are we dealing with?"

"They were attacked," the guard explained. "One dead. He's in room two. The other took off his gloves and mask to treat him. He's still in decon, but he'll need treatment as soon as he's processed through." He noticed the girls and asked, "What are they doing here?"

They pushed their way through, ignoring the protests of the guard and Jasper.

"Clarke, Aella, slow down guys!" he called after them. "These people are-"

"Lying to us," Clarke grumbled, pointing at the man's wound.

"That's a bullet wound," Aella mumbled. "Grounders don't use guns."

"Unless the Grounders got the guns from us?" Jasper suggested.

"I doubt it. I think our people are out there alive, Jas."

Before Clarke and Aella could examine the wound closer, they were both forced out of the room with guards while Jasper politely walked beside them, wondering if the girls lost their minds.

"We have to speak with you," Aella demanded, standing in front of President Wallace with Clarke by her side.

"Sure," he said. "Let's talk over breakfast."

They both sat down in front of him angrily, Aella finally asking, "Who shot that soldier?"

"The patrol that was looking for your people was attacked by what you call 'Grounders,'" he answered nonchalantly.

"We fought Grounders," Clarke interjected. "They don't use guns."

"I never mentioned guns. Sergeant Shaw was shot by an arrow."

"That's not true! We saw the wound!"

"Sometimes, we feel strongly about our people, we see things that aren't there."

Aella refrained from rolling her eyes and said, "We'd like to see the body."

"Of course. Come with me."

They followed the man, wondering why he would willingly show them the body with the bullet wound. Was he going to kill them in secret? What could he do?

Dr. Tsing left the infirmary and greeted the president with the two girls, rolling in the body on a gurney. "Sorry to keep you waiting," she said. "We had to finish decontamination."

"Thank you, Dr. Tsing," he said with a smile and a nod.

"The man with the burns...how is he?" Clarke asked.
