Before you get your panties or boxers in a twist, this is going to be one of the bonus chapters I make when I'm between writing chapters and figured I needed to put something up. They're a little short so far, but I'll improve. It explains what happened in the three months so it makes a little more sense. (I'm gonna do this for season five too when I get there, so read these plssss I'm using a lot of creativity here and I'm proud of myself!)

And sorry this isn't a real chapter. I'm having a little difficulty trying to write since I don't have a computer anymore and my tablet-computer hybrid machine kinda doesn't do the job as well as a normal computer, but c'est la vie. Bear with me!

Aella struggled every single day after returning from Mount Weather. The people closest to her were the ones that noticed how she suffered through the day but wore a perfectly crafted smile to fool everyone.

Bellamy noticed very early on and tried his best.

"You can talk to me, you know," he mentioned to her while they were lying side by side. It was night and Aella sometimes wished she could sleep a night outside the confining walls for once. Her head was on his chest, listening to the way his heartbeat changed when she was around.

"Yeah, I do," she said, her voice sounding foreign to her. "There's nothing to talk about."

"I think we both know you're a horrible liar."

"I am not."

He chuckled and started rubbing circles on her back with his thumb.

"Bellamy, do you think we could ever spend a night outside the walls one night?" she asked after a brief moment of silence.

"Your father would hate it, but we could ask."

"Cool."

He looked down at her in confusion and just brushed it off, already knowing what it was about.

"I just need a little change, you know? Something different."

"Different how?" he asked.

"I'm just gonna be blunt. I'm tired of everyone staring at me like I'm some sort of damaged war hero."

"To be fair, you kind of are one."

"I don't need to be reminded and treated like one every day. I don't need you walking on eggshells around me. I'm not that sensitive."

"I beg to differ, sweetheart."

"Okay, so I'm sensitive, but I'm not weak."

"Who said you were?"

"You treat me like I'm weak and in need of help. I'd be fine if I didn't have to stay in the same place every single day doing the same thing. I don't want to wake up early to meet with Abby to talk about my mental health, go see my dad, trade off with Monroe at guard posts, help Raven on fixing the cars you found, find Jasper hopelessly drunk, and repeat. It's the same thing and I'm tired of it."

"Are you tired of me?"

"I will be if you treat me the same every day. I want things to go back to the way they were."

"The way they were? Which way?"

"If I could go back to a day to relive over and over, it'd be the day we came to Earth, minus the whole Grounder problem. I'd love to go to the river and swing on a vine with Finn, joke with a Jasper that isn't drunk all the time, and just feel free. I'd love to argue and tease you and listen as you reciprocate my odd form of affection. But I can't."

He continued rubbing circles on her back and bent down to kiss her forehead, an idea forming in his mind.

"You gonna say anything? Tell me I'm ridiculous?"

"You're not ridiculous, but would you be up for a day trip?"

"A day trip?"

"To the river. I know it's no time machine, but a moment of freedom could do some good."

"I'd love to go."

So the next day, Bellamy came through on his promise and took her to the river. Of course, her father wasn't exactly on board with the idea, but he conceded when he knew it was best for Aella. Marcus did force Bellamy to bring a gun for protection.

The trek wasn't too long for the duo since they were used to worse hikes, so they got there when the sun was at its peak and lied down on the perfectly green grass, staring up at the baby blue sky dotted with clouds.

"Was this worth the hike?" Bellamy asked her, watching as her face lit up with happiness for the first time in weeks.

"Absolutely," she answered, touching each blade of grass with her fingertips. The sight of that place was nostalgic as she remembered the time she trekked there with her friends to find Mount Weather. Jaha sure as hell was wrong about the mountain.

Finn was alive, Jasper was happy, and Clarke was present at that time. It was saddening to think about, so she only thought of the happiness that moment carried and vowed she would keep it a happy place.

For Finn.

"I'd ask if you wanted to go swimming, but I'm scared of what's in the water," he admitted sheepishly, grinning like a dork.

"My father sent a team out to check if it was safe," she said. "He knows never to keep secrets from me since I'm too curious and will always figure it out beforehand." With those words, she stood up and stripped down to her undergarments. "It's safe."

"Oh, cool," he murmured before stripping down too. When he was undressed, he stood next to Aella and ran his finger over the bite mark scarring her skin from the mutant water snake.

"It's not here," she reminded him as she jumped into the water with no second thoughts and he followed.

"That's good."

She began swimming around and floated on her back. Swimming was a natural thing for her. In fact, one of her ancestors was a professional athlete in lap races. Perhaps that was why it was so easy for her. She smiled and asked, "How long can we stay for?"

"We have to be back before the moon reaches its peak. Any later and your dad will have my head as a trophy in his room."

"I don't doubt it."

So the two swam in the river in bliss, stealing kisses, talking, and bantering like usual. It was a slice of paradise for the girl with a cracking spirit.

Then the two had to hike back to Arkadia as it got darker and felt the air become cooler. They had to leave their paradise for the day, but silently claimed it as their own and promised they'd return to it someday.

In the midst of their hiking trip when the day became night, they witnessed a small swarm of radiation glowing butterflies circling the two, ensnaring them in an unbelievably perfect moment as they shared a tender kiss.

How cliche, but they both needed a perfect moment after all that happened and it went above and beyond.

When they returned, Aella was saddened by being inside Arkadia again. Nature was beautiful and she wished to never have to leave it after being trapped in Mount Weather.

Unfortunately, they didn't return to their paradise in that month they spent together.

Aella had that one moment, but it wasn't enough for her, so after a month of suffering and pity stares from people she knew and didn't know alike, she left.
