Two chapters in a day! Are you proud of me?

***

"Monty and Aella have been missing for two days," Jasper whispered to Maya in the dining hall. "Harper longer than that."

"We'll keep looking," Maya assured. "We'll find them."

"We both know where they are."

She shook her head slightly, informing him, "Checked the harvest chamber last night."

"So check it again!" He saw a Mount Weather citizen stare at him only and quieted down. "They took my best friends." He and Aella really bonded, so he cared about her like a sister. She had that effect on people.

"All right. I'll check again." Tears formed in her eyes. "You have to look like nothing's wrong...like everything's okay."

"Yeah."

"Don't do anything stupid."

He shook his head and Maya left him alone as he whispered to himself, "It's okay. Everything's okay. Everything is..." Maya left. "Not okay." Then he stood up. "Time to do something stupid."

Making sure Maya didn't see him leave, he marched over to Dante Wallace's office angrily.

"President Wallace," Jasper greeted, "can we talk?"

"What's on your mind, son?" Wallace asked.

"My friends," he answered, anger building.

"What about them?"

"Three of them are missing. Monty, Aella, and Harper. Tell me where they are."

"Jasper, I don't know what you're-"

"Stop lying."

"Excuse me?"

"You lied about there not being any survivors from the Ark. You lied about Maya's accident. I don't even know how many lies you told about Clarke..."

"Please sit down and we'll-"

"No!" he shouted, grabbing the sword on the desk, unsheathing it, and pointing it to Wallace's neck. "You're gonna tell me the truth."

"Jasper, please put down the sword."

"Why should I? So I can disappear next? Where are they?"

"I told you, I don't know what happened to your friends."

"Do I look desperate?" He moved closer. "Because I am feeling pretty desperate."

"You're right," he admitted. "I did lie to you about Clarke, about the survivors on the Ark, and about what happened to Maya. I'm trying to protect you, Jasper. All of you."

"Where are they? Where the hell is Monty? Where the hell is A-"

Wallace grabbed the sword and forced Jasper against the wall, holding the sword to his throat instead. "This is not a toy." He backed away from a frightened Jasper and pressed a button, turning to the man that walked in seconds later.

"Yes, sir?" the man asked, ready to comply.

"Could you please find out where Dr. Tsing and my son are at the moment?" Wallace asked.

"Anything else, sir?

"Not presently."

The man walked out the door, saying something like, "I need a location..." into his walkie before getting out of earshot.

"Let's take a walk," he said to Jasper, placing the sword on his desk.

"Where?" Jasper asked fearfully.
