Aella Kane spent a month in Arkadia before deciding the triggers weren't worth staying. Every light, sound of a machine, creak of metal...it was too much to handle since her mental state wasn't getting any better.

Her father and Bellamy really didn't want her to leave after just returning, but eventually, Marcus realized it was what was best for his daughter. Bellamy was still stubborn about it, so he and Aella butted heads a lot.

They argued and argued. He was looking out for her safety since Ice Nation seemed to be an untrusted "ally" outside the walls. She understood his concern, but if she wanted to lead her people properly, she had to fix herself first. A similar thing happened before the war with Trikru when they were enemies.

Unfortunately, she wasn't pissed at being ignored but instead suffered every day from something she couldn't cure by staying in an unhealthy environment, so she tried desperately to convince Bellamy to let her go. He didn't budge, so instead, she decided to leave without his knowledge.

That was two months ago.

In the past two months, she bettered herself in ways thought unimaginable and was able to move forward.

Surprisingly, she learned how to fight, properly hunt, and the language of the Grounders.

Then things seemed to take a bad turn.

The Ice Nation's queen, the ruthless woman who defied Lexa's coalition of the 12 clans, wanted Aella dead so she could absorb the "powers" of Arkadia's leader.

After Mount Weather, she didn't feel like a leader, but when the people discovered what she had done to protect her people, rumors went around that she was the one who pulled the lever. It wasn't her, but Clarke and Bellamy, but the story was so muddled that the Ice Queen wanted to kill both Clarke and Aella in case she got the wrong one. They were both redheads at that point.

Clarke and Aella crossed paths a few times in the two month period but never stuck together since they both knew why the other was out in the first place: to be alone for just a moment.

During that long, two month period, both of the strong females had earned solid reputations as wanted women. Clarke was most famous for pulling the lever in Mount Weather and earned the title of Wanheda, Commander of Death.

Aella's story was a little different. She was the leader of Arkadia, at least if the adults didn't try to step in all the time. She had an expensive price marked on her head in Ice Nation, especially since she had killed so many of them.

The Ice Queen wanted both Clarke and Aella to be brought to her so she could take their lives, earning their "powers." Aella was known as a wonderful leader in the Grounder community, being the first leader that almost established peace with them when they got to the ground. Lexa was so amused by the girl that she made the trip from Polis to meet her when the two clans were at war.

No everyone knew that, but those who did started spreading the news like wildfire. The Commander was interested in the leadership qualities of the redhead, so naturally, the Ice Queen wanted what the Commander wanted.

Aella tried to stay out of sight all the time which wasn't too hard when she stole an Ice Nation warrior's uniform and blended in. She was off to blend in and hide until she decided she was ready to return to her people, but then Ice Nation found a hut with a frightened family inside, hiding a young Nightblood.

Aella objected immediately and fought back the second the warriors slaughtered the young Nightblood's family with seemingly no regret flashing across their faces as they drew blood. They wanted to kill the boy that couldn't have been more than eleven years old because they wanted their queen to absorb the power of a Nightblood. He didn't survive that encounter.
