Aella Kane felt lost in this new world she was forced to live in. She hoped things would get better when her loved ones came down to the ground, but she hated to admit there were moments in time where she wished she, Clarke, and Madi were back in Shallow Valley peacefully catching fish and celebrating the fact that they were alive. She was happier than ever that Archer was back, but she had to admit everyone and everything as different. She was too. That harsh reality was almost too much to handle, but she did it.
She was cleaning her weapons in the tent she shared with Archer when Octavia entered, Aella refraining from rolling her eyes. She knew Octavia was terrifying and the fact that she listened to what Aella had to say made her question her own judgments, but the girl under the floor was hiding in there somewhere. She was just hiding behind this ruthless woman.
"What do you need, Blodreina?" Aella asked, her jaw tight.
"I'm a little disappointed in you," said Octavia, her voice low and scary.
"What did I do?" she responded, dropping her weapons.
"It's what you didn't do," she answered. "Tell me the truth. About Madi."
"Did Clarke tell you?"
"No. Madi told me."
Her eyes widened. "Why?"
"Madi wanted to assure she wasn't a threat. She told me the truth. You and Clarke lied to me."
"We thought we were keeping Madi safe."
"And she is safe under me. I am almost offended you thought she wouldn't be."
"Can you blame me?"
"I wouldn't hurt a child. I would hurt a liar."
"So, what'll it be? Mess up my face or kill my other leg?"
"I would, but it doesn't mean I will. I promised her I wouldn't hurt you."
"Should I be relieved?"
"Probably. She did save your life."
"So you would have killed me if you didn't promise a child you wouldn't hurt me?"
"You betrayed my trust. Why shouldn't I?"
"I assume your friend count is low nowadays."
"You know, your snarky comments should be kept to a minimum."
"Is that a threat?"
"As far as I'm concerned, you are a threat."
"I'm flattered."
"Remember what happens to enemies of Wonkru?"
"I think I can connect the dots."
"Think before you do."
"So, does this mean I'm off your council?" she asked sarcastically.
"If you earn your keep, I'll keep you on."
"And how do I do that?"
"I am considering a trade."
"What kind of trade?"
"Archer."
"Speak of Archer and I do not care if you are Blodreina, I will not hesitate to hurt you."
"So you won't like the offer. Archer trains to fight with the other children and you can stay."
"No."
