If you asked Aella a year ago where she would be, she definitely would not say lying in bed next to the man she loved and the boy she called her son, wide awake as she worried how to save her people from an oncoming second nuclear apocalypse.

Deciding she had enough trying to force herself to sleep, she sat back at the desk and ran her eyes over the list she had to make. That damned list was missing so many names, including her own, but she decided that unless the list could expand onward to include every person from Arkadia and the Grounders, her name wouldn't be considered.

She went over the list again and knew in her heart of hearts that she had to revise it, so with tears running down her cheeks, she had to cross off Murphy's name, Emori's name, and Raven's name to replace them with names she didn't know. Medically and logically, it's what made sense but her heart refused to let it pass by.

She shoved the list back in the desk and slowed her breathing, knowing she couldn't lose hope now.

The sun slowly began to filter into the room, creating a golden glow around the sleeping figures of Bellamy and Archer. A small smile tugged at her lips, knowing that Bellamy already cared so much for the young boy. She called herself Archer's mother, but she didn't expect Bellamy to care so much about the kid too.

She had a family, but to save them all would be difficult. She knew not all their names were on the list, but she hoped the list wouldn't matter. Having a small sense of renewed hope for the day, she tucked the list back in the drawer and watched with a smile how Bellamy moved in his sleep.

"Are you staring?" Bellamy mumbled, finally waking up from a good night's rest. He sat up in bed, carefully moving his arm away from Archer so that he could sleep soundly.

"It's what I do," Aella responded, watching as he made his way over to her. She stood up in response and placed her hands on his shoulders, planting a kiss on Bellamy's cheek.

"How did you sleep?" he asked, lightly kissing the tip of her nose.

"I slept okay," she responded. "And you? You seem well-rested."

"I slept surprisingly fine."

"That's good. You needed it."

"You need it too, Aella. Rest."

"We don't have time. I need to get down to the medbay to see Abby."

"She can test Luna's blood while you rest."

"Well, I...don't want her to. I need to help out."

"You're going to overwork yourself one day and it will not be good. I don't want that to happen."

"I'll sleep well when we have a viable solution, okay?" Her hands had traveled from his shoulders to his chest.

He backed up and then intertwined his fingers with hers. "I don't like it, but I won't fight you on it."

"Stop being so cute," she pretended to whine, placing a kiss on his lips. "I don't need you to distract me."

He chuckled a little then returned a small kiss, grabbing his guard jacket. "I'm going hunting, so I'll maybe be gone a day or two," he responded. "We have to go farther because the radiation's just driving them all away."

"Come back safe."

"Don't worry."

"Well, I'll try not to."

"Are you going to survive without me?"

"It'll be difficult, but I'll manage."

"You strong enough to drag Archer out of bed?"
