It was getting complicated. I knew everything was just a coincidence, but in Stephen's eyes, it looked... too real.

"Oh my... Stephen, don't get this wrong. It's not what you think, I swear," I rushed to explain, my voice trembling slightly.

"It's not?" he scoffed, his eyes narrowing dangerously. "Tell me what you think it is, you slut! Is this why you've been avoiding my calls?" His tone dripped with anger, disgusted at the mere thought that I could sleep with some random guy.

I flinched at the word slut. I hated how quickly some men jumped to conclusions, assuming the worst. "No, that's not it!" I exclaimed.

"Why not?" he spat, stepping closer. "He's been under your skirt, hasn't he? And you love it, don't you? That's why you didn't answer my calls!"

Aaron, who had been quiet until now, finally snapped. "Who the hell are you to barge in here?!" His face was red, hands balling into fists.

"Aaron, please, stay out of it!" I begged, my voice cracking. I didn't want this to escalate into a fight.

"Who the hell am I? Who the hell are you, huh?!" Stephen shot back, his jaw tight, veins standing out on his neck. "Because I'm her fucking boyfriend!"

"I'm Aaron. And if she did sleep with me, what would you do?!" Aaron shot back, challenging him.

"Aaron, stop it!" I shouted, panic rising. They weren't listening. Both of them had completely ignored me.

Stephen's nostrils flared. He leaned forward, his hand snapping to Aaron's stomach in a warning blow. "Uh... what would I do?" His voice was low, dangerous. "That's what I'd do if anyone messed with my girl."

At that moment, Allison walked in, frozen at the sight before her.

"What the hell is going on here, Aaron?!" she demanded, stepping between the two men.

Aaron, who had been about to swing a fist, froze under her glare.

Stephen's eyes snapped to me. "Who is she?" he asked, clearly irritated and embarrassed.

"She's my roommate," I said quickly, still clutching the towel around me. "And that's her brother who came looking for her. You won't listen to my explanation anyway."

Stephen's face flushed crimson. "Oh..." He stepped back, clearly realizing how ridiculous he looked. "Just... stay away from my girl," he muttered, avoiding my gaze.

Aaron smirked, his eyes glinting mischievously. "We'll see about that."

"Will anyone answer me and stop making me look like a fool?" Allison groaned, exasperated.

"It's nothing, Allison," Aaron said quickly, trying to downplay it.

Allison raised an eyebrow. "How did you even know her?"

"We're in the same class," Aaron replied casually, shrugging.

"Oh... really? That's nice." She smiled faintly, clearly trying to diffuse the tension.

Stephen's hand finally reached for me, wrapping around my waist, pulling me close. His lips brushed the side of my neck, possessive and intimate, completely ignoring Aaron's presence. I could feel his jealousy burning like fire.

"Sharon... get dressed. I'm driving you there," he said, his tone softening, but the possessiveness didn't leave his voice.

"Finally... after wasting enough of my time," I muttered, rolling my eyes, though secretly relieved.

"Sorry, babe. You know I didn't mean to." His hands tightened slightly around my waist as he kissed my neck again, whispering against my skin. "Tell me why you didn't pick up my calls."

"It was on silent... sorry."

He exhaled, still holding me close. "Okay... get dressed. Now."

Aaron, sensing the tension, spoke to his sister. "I'll meet you in class, Sharon." Then he left, giving Stephen a glare before exiting.

I let out a shaky breath.

"Okay," I said quietly.

"Okay?" Stephen echoed, his voice dark with jealousy. "Looks like I might have to switch classes just to come to yours."

"Stephen, it's not up to that. We're just normal friends," I tried to reason, tightening my towel around me.

"We'll see about that," he muttered, his hand still resting possessively on my waist. His eyes were sharp, intense — protective, and more than a little territorial.
