Aaron's POV

As I lifted my phone, angling it just right, I felt a rush of control surge through me. Sharon was barely steady on her feet, swaying as I loosened the clasp at her back. The straps slipped away, and I guided her toward the bed before she could stumble. She fell against the mattress with a soft, unfocused laugh, her movements slow and uncertain.

I pulled the rest of her clothes away, my pulse pounding — part desire, part something darker. She wasn't resisting. She wasn't even fully aware.

And then I did what I'd been imagining for far too long.

A faint moan escaped her lips, a name slipping out between breaths as i dived into her.

Stephen.

My jaw tightened.
Even now — even like this — she was thinking of him.

It stung more than I wanted to admit.

Still, I pushed the thought aside, convincing myself that this moment belonged to me. I traced kisses along her skin, claiming what I'd wanted for weeks, letting the night blur into reckless indulgence. By the time exhaustion finally claimed me, I lay back, satisfied, convinced I had won something.

It had been... a night I wouldn't forget.

Morning

My head throbbed the moment I opened my eyes.

It felt as though I'd run a marathon inside my dreams — heavy, aching, drained. I shifted under the blanket, blinking against the light creeping through the curtains.

Then I noticed where I was.

And who was beside me.

Aaron.

My heart lurched violently.

I pulled the blanket aside just enough to confirm what dread had already told me. Reality struck like ice water.

"I'm dead..." I whispered, my voice cracking.

Panic surged through me as I shook him awake.

He stirred, groaning, then sat up — and realization flooded his expression.

"Oh my God... Sharon."

"I was about to say the same thing," I said, my voice trembling. "Please tell me nothing happened."

He glanced under the blanket — performing shock so convincingly it twisted my stomach.

"...It did. Sharon, I'm so sorry."

My breathing turned shallow.

"Oh my God... what do I do? What do I do?" I muttered repeatedly, hands gripping my hair as if I could pull the memory out by force.

I never noticed the faint smirk that flickered across his face before he masked it.

"Aaron... please," I said desperately. "This stays between us. No one can know. Not even Stephen."

He nodded without hesitation.

"Don't worry. No one will know. Your secret is safe with me."

Relief mixed with dread, leaving me hollow.

I stayed wrapped in the blanket while he dressed, turning away to give me privacy. When he left the room, I hurried into my clothes, my hands shaking the entire time.

Walking through the club afterward felt surreal — bodies scattered across furniture, laughter and music lingering from the night before. The scene made my stomach churn. I couldn't believe I had become part of it.

Aaron drove me back in silence.

When I opened the dorm door, I froze.

Stephen sat on my bed.

Calm.
Still.
Watching.

His foot tapped lightly against the floor — a quiet rhythm filled with tension.

"Where were you last night?" he asked.

His voice was controlled.

Too controlled.
