Chapter Forty-Four

"Hey, you're spacing out. Are you sure you want to come with me? You can wait sa office ni Slyther. I can handle it—"

Hinawakan niya ang kamay nito pagkuwa'y tumango, "Kaya ko, Raven. Don't worry about me. Gusto ko na rin matapos ito," she said.

Pagkatapos nilang magusap mag-ina kanina ay mas lalong gusto na ni Abby na matapos ang lahat. Somehow, she felt lighter after that conversation.

Parang may nakawala sa dibdib niya. Parang may tinik na nawala.

Her mother left on her own. Hindi na ito naabutan nila Daniella at Raven. She also fixed herself. Panigurado kasing hindi siya papayagan ni Raven na sumama kung makikita nito ang itsura niya.

Ngayon, magkahawak kamay silang lumabas ng sasakyan at dumiretso sa conference room. Tumigil sila nang makasalubong ang mga De Leon kasama si Bella.

Raven instinctively pulled her behind him. As if he is shielding her from any threat and it made her feel safe somehow.

"What is the meaning of this, Raven?" Nakakunot ang noo ni Bella, "Are you seriously siding with this bi—"

"I really suggest you think about the next word you will going to say about my wife, Ms. Lacerna." Raven monotonously said. Hindi galit kundi wala lang emosyon kaya nakakapagbigay pa rin ng takot at kaba.

On the other side, she didn't know what to feel when he claims her to be his wife. Masyado naman yata itong excited porket magkaka-baby na sila! But, it felt... Nice.

"Mr. De Leon, Ms. Lacerna." Their lawyer called their attention, "Let's go inside so we can get started." Huminga nang malalim ang dalawa at sumunod na sa abugado nito.

Slyther was already inside and welcomed them. Sa isang mahaba at malaking mesa ay tumapat siya kay Pierre habang si Bella naman ay nakatapat kay Raven.

Slyther and their lawyer is also facing each other. Halatadong nagkausap na rin at alam ang mga susunod na gagawin.

"My client firmly states that Ms.Sinfuego asked Mrs. De Leon for a large amount of money to support her father's medical fees." Doon pa lang ay napabuntong hininga na si Abby. Napahigpit ang hawak niya sa kamay ni Raven. He squeezed it assuring her that he is there.

"In exchange, my client would be the taking the title of the debtor's property, with the condition that the conveyance of title becomes void upon the payment of the debt." Dagdag pa ng abugado nila Pierre.

"My client refuses to pay any amount for she denies the accusation. She didn't ask Mrs. De Leon's help with regards to his medical fee's."

"Kung talagang naniniwala kayo na umutang ako sa kanya. Bakit hindi ninyo tanungin —"

"Oh, c'mon. Do you really think Mom would sell you out?" Asik ni Pierre, "Kung hindi pa namin nalaman ito ay siguro kakalimutan mo na ang utang na iyon dahil anak ka naman!"

"You made me sign an agreement. You revoke any of my rights as her daughter. You saw where I lived. You knew where I used to work," sabay tingin niya kay Bella, "Kung hinuhuthutan ko ng pera ang nanay niyo, bakit ganito pa rin ang buhay ko!"

"Simple. Because you're a gold diggin' bitch" sabat ni Bella. Matalim ang tingin sa kanya.

"Does it take one to know one?" Sagot ni Abby at nakita niya itong nagtangis ang bagang.

"Is that it?" Napatingin sila kay Raven, "This is all about money?"

"Raven—"

"I need an answer, Ms. Lacerna." Seryoso nitong tugon, "Is this all about money?"
