Chapter Nine

Napadilat si Raven nang marinig ang alam ng sariling cellphone. Parang kakapikit lang niya tapos umaga na agad?

Kung sabagay, anong oras ba siya nakatulog kagabi? Totoo bang nakatulog siya?

He looked at his phone and saw that it's already 7:45 AM. Shit! He has a meeting later and he knew he can't be late. But, as if his body doesn't cooperate.

Kailan pa siya tinamad pagdating sa trabaho? He knew he was late but he is still lying on his bed. Kung hindi pa tumawag si Bella, hindi yata siya babangon.

"Bella" He answered her call, voice still raspy, "I'll be there. Give me 20 minutes tops." Pagkasabi ay binaba na niya ang tawag at nagmadali na magasikaso.

Malapit lang naman ang condo niya rito. His mother offered him to stay in the hotel suite but he doesn't want to. Iba pa rin ang may sariling lugar na walang trabaho na nakaabang.

Nang matapos magayos ay agad siyang umalis ng unit. Pagkasakay niya sa sasakyan ay ang kapatid naman ang nakausap. "Hindi ko pa rin alam, Huffle. I'll look into my schedule kung makakarating ako mamaya."

"You're so unfair, Kuya. I don't get why you love to spend your time with that bitch."

"Huffle, don't say that," saway niya sa kapatid, "Why do you hate her so much?"

He heard his sister sighed on the other line, "First and foremost, ayoko sa plastic. Pangalawa, she's a manipulative, conniving bitch so don't defend her!"

Fine. Hindi na siya sasagot. When it comes to Huffle, he won't win. Hindi naman kasi ito maldita nang walang dahilan.

He knew something happened before that's why Huffle hates Bella. Girls things he supposed.

"Okay, pupunta na ako mamaya. You really know how to get what you want."

"Great! I'll tell Mommy and Papa! See you later, Kuya."

Pagkarating niya sa hotel ay binati siya agad ng mga empleyado, he greets them as well. Sa Sabado pa naman siya i-aannounce na bagong CEO ng hotel, but the employees are already treating him as their boss.

"You're late." Iyon ang bungad ni Bella sa kanya na kanina pa naghihintay marahil sa labas ng opisina niya, "Let's go."

They all stood and greeted him. He returned the favor as well kahit na labag na sa puso niya. These people don't trust younger businessman, pakiramdam nila ay aagawan sila ng papel sa buhay.

That's why he didn't insist when they didn't want to invest in Hotel Martinez, madami pa naman siyang pwede mahanap na mapagkakatiwalaan siya.

But then, Bella, the marketing manager and sort of adviser, thought different. Ito ang nagpumilit na makausap muli ang mga ito and he was surprised when she changed their mind.

Ang sabi nito, may isang empleyado na nagtanggol sa kanya. An employee named, Abby.

Magdamag niyang inisip kung sinong Abby. He didn't asked Bella the fullname, dahil maliban sa imposibleng doon din ito nagtratrabaho ay marami ding Abby sa mundo.

Why would she work in their hotel? Kilala niya si Abby, she wouldn't dare to show her face in a place where her life could be at stake.

Yun naman pala, Raven. Ano pang iniisip mo diyan? He thought to himself.

Damn, it made him stay all night.

"Greet them, you're still telling me why you're late." Bulong ni Bella sa kanya bago makaupo. He just looked at her with meaningful stare, alam na ni Bella iyon.
