"I can't...I can't breathe." Eunbi gasped for air as she leaned against a sappy tree. She searched through all her pockets for her inhaler but couldn't find it. She was beginning to panic which was worst for the condition she was in right now.
"You need any help?..." SinB looked up but no one was in sight. It was also too dark for her to see. Eunbi grabbed her phone to use her flashlight but her phone was dead.
"Where are you...?" Eunbi reached her hand out. Slowly, she moved her hand down until her fingertips were touching something soft. Eunbi gently set her hand on whatever it was. She moved her hand around slowly, she was petting whatever it is. Then she had a light bulb moment. What she is touching is fur.
Cautiously, SinB retracted her hand away from the animal. SinB couldn't adjust her eyes to the darkness causing her not to be able to see at all. She felt blind.
"My inhaler...I need my inhaler." SinB placed her hand over her heart as she inhaled and exhaled but no air filled her lungs. Her whole world felt like it was spinning. She felt her body getting weaker and she thought she was gonna faint in a few seconds.
"I'm gonna help you. I'll make your life better and easier. With me, you'll never need your inhaler again. It will only take a few seconds and it will sting just a little." Eunbi listened to the woman's soft, calming voice. She felt reassured. The woman grabbed Eunbi's forearm. She brought SinB's wrist up to her mouth, closer to her teeth.
"Wait..." Eunbi stopped the woman, "What are you doing?" Eunbi questioned.
The woman froze for a moment before speaking casually, "Just trust me, okay? This is all about trust. Don't worry, you know me. You'll see me tomorrow morning." Suddenly Eunbi began to trust the woman she supposedly knows.
SinB closed her eyes tightly when she felt something sharp dig into her wrist. The woman's sharp teeth sank deeper and deeper. Eunbi tried to scream but nothing came out. She tried to escape but her efforts were a waste.
SinB could feel cold thick liquid running down her arms. The air reeked of the blood but Eunbi felt too weak to even lift up her other arm to cover her nose.
Now Eunbi could feel herself falling. Her legs felt like jello and her head felt like it was spinning. Still, she couldn't breath.
The woman slowly removed her fangs from Eunbi's bare skin. SinB's body slowly fell down onto the cold, muddy ground. She curled up into a ball and clenched her fist, her eyes still shut tightly.
"You said it'd only sting. Why does it hurt so much?" Eunbi asked as she sucked in air through her clenched teeth.
"I'm sorry I lied. It's agonizing, isn't it? The pain is gnawing at you. Soon it will all be over. You will begin to heal faster now. Now you won't be as easily hurt. Things that would normally hurt you and other people won't hurt you anymore. I'm helping you, not hurting you. Like they say, things get worst before they get better." The woman explained. Eunbi, for some reason, believed her. She didn't trust people often, that's why it is so unusual for Eunbi to trust someone for no reason and without evidence to believe the specific person.
"I want to go home. I want to go home." SinB's body shaked back and forth. It was so cold. Even her body was shivering and her teeth were chattering.
"Just a little longer. I'll be going now."
"Wait...where can I find you?"
"You'll know where to find me, trust me. You just have to follow your instincts." The woman patted Eunbi's head and ran off. The woman already disappeared into the distance before Eunbi could count to five.
Eunbi whispered calming words to herself before she felt her eye lids getting heavier. Her wrist began to feel numb. She closed her eyes and thought she was dying.
➖➖➖Eunbi opened her eyes and checked her surroundings. She was still in the woods, at least she could see now since it was morning. She looked at her wrist to see the bite mark but it seemed to have vanished overnight. How could such a wound like that heal just over night?
"It can't be possible..." Eunbi remembered something she watched from a show. She couldn't believe it. There's no way. They don't exist.
She tried to remember the symptoms and see if she felt the same ones. She felt stronger which is one of the symptoms.
"No. I can't be." Eunbi checked to make sure her phone was in her pocket before she ran home. She wasn't running out of breath. How? This is also another symptom. She didn't need her inhaler anymore.
Fortunately, no one was home. Eunbi slipped her shoes off and ran upstairs into her bathroom. She looked into the mirror. She was surprised that she still looked the same.
She paid very close attention to her eyes. She tried to get mad about something but it was difficult to think of something to make her mad. She thought of Yerin and Yuju flirting. It made her both sad and mad.
Eunbi put her face really close to the mirror and used her fingers to widen her eyes a little more. The more she got angrier she could she her brown eyes turn a yellow-ish hue. Then her eyes flashed a red for only a second before going back to yellow.
"No...no..." Eunbi leaned against the bathroom door. Her body slowly slid down onto the floor. She felt liquid rolling down her cheeks. She was crying. She doesn't want to be this way. If people find out they will hate her. They will try to kill her. Eunbi brought her knees up to her chest and cupped her face with her hands and continued crying.
"I'm a shifter. No. I'm a monster..."
