"Sowon someone is here to see you" the manager informed her as she walked out of the kitchen.
"I'll be out there in a second" Sowon asked one of the other cooks to take care of the food so she could go to the front.
"Eunha?" Sowon smiled. She then noticed the older man sitting next to her.
"Sowon, hi. This is my father" Eunha introduced him, her cheeks bright red. She was so nervous.
"Oh..." Sowon's hands began to tremble. This was what she least expected. "Nice to meet you" she bowed and smiled. This was one of the most awkward experiences she's ever had.
"I wanted to finally meet the girl my daughter has been talking about all these years" he shook Sowon's hand and smiled.
"No wonder you like her. She looks very young and is very slim, and very tall" he laughed as he looked up at her. Even she was taller than him.
"It's not all about her looks dad" Eunha nudged his arm.
"Yes I know" he nudged Eunha back. "Tell me a few things you're interested in besides my daughter" he smirked at Eunha once she blushed.
"I like to cook" Sowon couldn't really think of anything else.
"That's it?" He was a bit surprised. He didn't understand why Eunha would like her if she had no talents or interests.
"Well I'm good at history" she shrugged.
"History? That was one of my favorite school subjects. You like any sports?" He asked.
"Not really. I only like to watch Eunha play tennis"
"A lesbian that doesn't like sports? That's interesting, I've never heard of that before" of course he was only making a joke from what he has seen in America the last few months.
"Oh I..." Sowon paused to think of what to say. "I like to run...?" Sowon said with an uncertain voice. She looked over at Eunha who in return gave her a weird look. Eunha had never heard that from Sowon before. If she liked running then Eunha would've known.
"Now that is interesting. I use to be on the track team when I was your age. Are you on your schools track team? You should join if not"
"I am actually" Sowon lied. Eunha realized that Sowon had no idea what she was getting herself into. Sowon thought it would be fine.
"Eunha when does your track team have a match?" He looked over at her. She had no idea if she should answer honestly.
"Next week on Friday" Eunha said with concerned eyes. Sometimes after tennis she'd sit on the bleachers and watch the track team while she tried to cool off.
"Great. Me and Eunha will come to your next game" he smiled at Sowon.
"Wait but that's the track team for your school, when does my schools track team play?" Sowon whispered to Eunha.
"I don't know, it's not my school anymore" Eunha answered in a quiet voice while her father was distracted by the tv.
"Well do you know which team is playing your schools team? What if it's mine?" Sowon panicked.
"No don't worry it's not. I already saw who they are playing and it's not your schools track team" Eunha quickly smiled once her father turned around so she wouldn't look suspicious.
"Should we head home now? I still have stuff to unpack" he sighed.
"Have a good day" Sowon waved.
"You have to join the track team. On Monday. Remember" Eunha raised her eyebrows. Then she ran out of the bar behind her father.

"Shit, Eunbi. I don't know what to do" Sowon facepalmed. "It's not funny" Sowon looked up with a deadly serious expression when she heard Eunbi and Umji laughing.
"I'm sorry but track? Ha!" Umji slapped her leg and continued laughing even louder.
"What's so funny about me doing track?" Sowon glared at both of them.
"Nothing it's just...I cant omg" Eunbi couldn't talk any longer. She was running out of breath from laughing too much. As soon as the word "track" came out of Sowon's mouth Umji and Eunbi couldn't stop hysterically laughing.
"Oh my god! Oh no! Sowon wants to join track" Umji fell on the floor laughing.
"She doesn't even know how to run" Eunbi threw her head back laughing like a little kid.
"What the fuck? That's not true!" Sowon stood up. Now she was angry.
"Watch her fall over in the finals" Umji had tears rolling down her cheeks from laughing too much.
"If she even makes it into the team!" Eunbi couldn't stop. She was having way too much fun with this.
"Ok get out of my house now" Sowon pointed to the door. She really needed help but instead they laughed at her and she wasn't going to take that trash talk from both of them.
"Ok Sowon chill. We're just kidding. We'll stop now" Eunbi immediately stopped laughing and put her poker face on as she straightened her back.
Umji looked at Eunbi and for someone reason they both snickered. After that Eunbi went right back into her proper position. Umji sat back down on the chair and wiped the tears of joy off her cheeks. Then she tried her best to be serious.
"I need answers guys. I literally have no clue as to what I'm doing right now. I don't know why I said I do track" Sowon slapped her own cheek.
"Probably because you wanted to impress her father" Umji suggested.
"No. I didn't even know he liked track. Eunha never told me. He even did track in high school, I didn't know that"
"No I just mean like impress him by saying that you play a sport, doesn't matter what sport as long as you play one because it'll impress him. You know what I mean?" Umji raised her eyebrows and waited for Sowon to nod to show her understanding of what she just said.
"I understand but what do I do now?"
"Join the track team obviously" Eunbi stated the obvious of course. Umji and Eunbi both chuckled a little bit after that.
"Ok seriously what's so funny?"
"It's just that you're not really a running kind of person. You're fast as hell but you don't have much endurance" Umji explained.
"Well that's why I can practice"
"Sowon do you know how long that takes? The track team starts their first match in eight days only. You can't do that. It takes way longer to build up endurance" Umji couldn't believe that Sowon didn't know this. This is exactly why she couldn't join the track team. She knew nothing about it.
"I already have some endurance though. Eight days is enough to build up some"
"You can't just have some" Eunbi looked at her like she's stupid. "You have to kind of be at Yuju's level of endurance, actually a lot less because she has a lot of endurance"
"Well is Yuju on the track team? Maybe she can help me"
"No. If Yuju was on the track team don't you think you'd know by now?" Umji had a distasteful look on her face.
"Well she can still help me" Sowon had a hopeful look in her eyes.
"Sowon you do realize Yuju can barely walk right now, right?" Umji raised one eyebrow.
"Shit" Sowon facepalmed again. Now she just wanted to cry because she was out of options. "Wait but I saw her walking at school today"
"Yeah but she's still having a hard time. She can't run yet but she can walk a little. Since she hasn't been able to run for so long she's gonna have to build that endurance back up again and it's going to take her awhile" Umji didn't know how to explain this any further. Sowon would be stupid if she didn't understand.
"I'm doomed"
