Tryout

"Ok listen up ladies. We have a young lady here who would like to try out for a position in the track team" the coach introduced Sowon who was awkwardly standing next to him.

Linzy immediately noticed her. Sowon looked around at the girls and for some reason she felt a bit angry when she saw Linzy standing in the back. Maybe it was because she told Eunha to break up with her. Now Sowon was determined to be the best track player.

"We don't know if she's staying until I see how much talent she's got but please be kind to her today. I want you guys to start out with two laps today. Get a move on! Chop chop!" He clapped his hands. All the girls raced to the track.

Sowon sighed and looked at the bleachers where Umji, Eunbi, Yuju, and Cao Lu were sitting. They all cheered for her and gave her a thumbs up. She really didn't feel like running today but she had to. She had to convince Eunha's father that she is a runner and she had to become better than Linzy.

By the end of the first lap Sowon was panting while the other girls kept running without a problem. They seemed fine to her. She wondered how these human girls were able to run more than her. While the coach was distracted Sowon stopped to take a break.

"I can't do this shit" Sowon held her hand on her chest. Her heart was beating way faster than usual.

"Sowon get those legs moving! You ain't impressing nobody until you move!" Yuju yelled from the stands.

"Fuck off!" Sowon jokingly put her middle finger up to Yuju and smiled before sprinting again.

"Is she always that rude?" Cao Lu asked.

"She was joking. Do you know what that word means?" Umji turned to her with a rude look.

"Sorry" she responded with a rude tone to fire back at Umji. "I don't know her"

"Exactly so why comment about her? You're not friends with any of us. Why don't you get the fuck out of here?" Umji stood up. She felt beyond angry for some reason.

"Ok chill I didn't think you'd be such a bitch about it" Cao Lu also stood up. None of them expected her to say that to Umji.

"Hey don't call her that" Yuju backed up Umji. She didn't want anyone to fight.

"Why don't you guys like me?"

"Ok no you don't get to just say that after calling our friend a bitch" Yuju said calmly.

"Ok guys let's not fight" Eunbi stood in between the two.

"Well maybe your stupid friend shouldn't be such an asshole" Cao Lu pointed at Umji.

"Don't be such a skanky bitch then" Yuju fired back. She wasn't usually this mean to people.

"That's it Yuju we're leaving" Umji grabbed Yuju and wrapped her arm around her so she could help her walk.

"Umji wait" Eunbi grabbed her arm.

"Don't touch me" Umji turned around with a deadly look in her eyes and pulled away.

"Umji I'm sorry. Just stay, ok?" Eunbi tilted her head with a pleading look in her eyes.

"You should've told me to stay a long time ago, now is the wrong time" Umji wrapped her arm around Yuju's waist and continued walking away.

"What does that mean?" She left Eunbi dumbfounded.

Meanwhile Sowon was still ranting about how exhausted she was. The coach was a bit disappointed and already had made up the decision in his head to not let Sowon join the team. She was one of the worse tryouts he had ever seen in his life, and he has been teaching track for awhile.

"Sowon...uh, why don't you go in the locker room and get changed with the rest of the team and we can talk after" he looked at Sowon with sad eyes because he already knew that he was going to let her go but Sowon was oblivious to this.

"Oh ok" Sowon was a bit curious but she followed the rest of the girls into the changing rooms.

Most of the group changed in the same locker area so they could talk to each other but Sowon stayed on the other side behind them all so no one could see her. It made her highly uncomfortable when people saw her getting changed, unless it was Eunha of course.

"So is Eunha coming back to your tennis team? I heard rumors that she was. The whole school was so excited. People love her here, more than I thought they did. She's a big hit at this school. Even a lot of the girls like her. She's the best tennis player this school has ever had" one girl suddenly said. What she said wasn't relevant to what they were previously talking about at all but she wanted to know if the rumors were true.

"That has nothing to do with this but ok" another girl gave her a weird look.

"If she breaks up with her girlfriend, maybe. I don't know why they're together anyways. Sowon is a freak show" Linzy said, not realizing that Sowon was listening to them.

"Sowon? Never heard of her. Does she go to this school?"

"Yeah. She's pretty noticeable since she's tall"

"Oh that Sowon? I mean she's hot and has a nice body, who wouldn't date her?" The rest of the group rolled their eyes because of that comment.

"We all have nice bodies" Linzy said.

"But why is she a freak show?"

"I don't know she always had problems. Daddy issues or whatever. She was in foster care for awhile" Linzy only knew this information because of Eunha.

"Yeah if I was Eunha I'd break up with her. She looks mean anyways. Eunha likes tennis more than that girl. Both of them can always find another person to date"

"I don't see what's so special about her. Eunha could date someone that treats her better" Linzy sighed.

"Sowon problably manipulated her. You know how those kinds of people act. We're gonna go now, get home safe" the girls left the locker room. Now it was only Linzy and Sowon.

"Hey Linzy" Sowon paused when she was half way towards the door near Linzy. "Have a nice night" Sowon gave a sassy smile and left. She was pissed off but decided to be a bit passive aggressive instead of being straight up rude.
