Eunha was sleeping peacefully on the couch. She was so glad she could sleep in today because she didn't have to go to school. She finally had time to rest properly. She felt so stressed lately.
She could feel someone touching her, but she kept her eyes closed. She knew it was just Sowon. She couldn't smell her scent, which she thought was kind of weird but she ignored it. A smile appeared on her face as the fingers traveling up her legs began to tickle her.
"Stop, Sowon. That tickles." She tried to push her hand away. When she felt the fingers still on her legs she opened her eyes, immediately frightened when she saw that wasn't Sowon.
"Good morning." Sowon's sister smiled down at her.
"What the fuck are you doing? Don't touch me." Eunha slapped her hand away.
"Sorry. That's how they use to wake us up in morning when we were kids."
"Oh..." Eunha looked guilty but still a bit disturbed.
"I suppose Sowon has learned how to wake you up like a normal girlfriend."
"No. We just usually wake up at the same time."
"So she isn't treating you well?"
"What? No."
"No? I'll beat her up then." She stood up but Eunha grabbed her to stop her from going any further.
"No, I meant no as in she does take care of me. But what does waking me up in the morning have to do with taking care of someone?"
"It's just that usually, in our pack, you're supposed to wake up your mate with breakfast already made, usually it'd be fish or another wild animal." Sohee explained, noticing how Eunha grimaced at the mention of the word 'mate.'
"Humans don't do that, at least not often."
"Jeez, you humans don't know how to love."
"Well I'm not full human, and humans do know how to love, but some of them don't."
"Well, then maybe you should make Sowon breakfast since she seems to be the one that does more for you."
"What are you talking about? And I can't with my leg because I can't stand up for too long."
"You know what I'm talking about. She gave away the most prized position for you, alpha position. She got rid of her chance of being a leader for you. That's a lot to ask for."
"I didn't ask her to do it."
"Doesn't matter. She does more for you, and it is unfair to her."
"How would you know? You've been here for like a month. You know nothing about us."
"Look at you. You think you've got anything to give? All you've got is a little bit of meat on your thighs, I can see why Sowon likes you for that."
"What is your problem with me?"
"I just don't like you. I much prefer Sowon's ex-mate."
"What are you talking about? I'm the first person Sowon ever dated."
"Yeah that's what she told you."
"You're just trying to get on my nerves." Eunha tried to ignore it, but she was honestly debating if she believed her or not.
"You don't know what she doesn't tell you. She's a whole different person now. She has a part of her life that you know nothing about."
"Then tell me."
"She fell in love with this girl named Hayoung when she was 15. She was a human, unfortunately. A couple months after they started dating this pack of alphas came after her, she was 16 by this time. You know the pack I'm talking about because they tried to kill you too. Anyways, one of them bit her, but her body didn't react to the bite well. Sowon held her as she died. She was angry, her body was full of rage, so she went out to kill. It was May 30th that night, your birthday. You came into the woods after your boyfriend broke up with you. She decided you were the perfect victim since you were a young girl all alone. She was going to kill you, but unexpectedly, your body reacted well to the bite. She didn't mean for you to live. That's the true story. Whatever else she told you is false." She spoke with sincerity, and her heartbeat remained at the same pace the whole time. She was telling the truth.
"So I was just going to be another one of her victims?"
"Yes, unfortunately. But don't get me wrong, her love for you is undeniable. She fell in love with you, she truly did. I can see it, I can smell it off of her. Her eyes light up when she looks at you, her smile becomes brighter than the snow, her heartbeat is insanely fast. I know love when I see it, and that, my friend, is love." She patted Eunha on the back with a smile.
"Is there more that I don't know of?"
"Yes, but that's for Sowon to share, not me. I will be out of your way soon, so don't worry about me ruining your life. By the way, Eunha, I don't hate you, I just...it's hard for me to see my sister fall in love with someone again after what happened. I fear that it will happen again. I was torn apart to see how much pain she was in when Hayoung died, so I just worry, but please don't think I hate you. It's not my intention to make it seem like I am spiteful towards you. And I apologize for being so insolent." She spoke with a soft voice and genuine eyes. It was the first time Eunha had seen her seem so emotional.
"I understand. I don't hate you either, but sometimes you can be a bit of a bitch." Eunha let out a soft laugh.
"I could say the same thing about you." She nudged Eunha with a smile.
"Happy to see you two are getting along." Sowon appeared in the kitchen.
"Me and Eunha are always getting along. We are...best friends." She wanted to puke when she said that. She definitely didn't consider Eunha a friend. The two began engaging in a conversation, leaving Eunha to wonder why Sowon never told her about Hayoung.
