"Every step that I take is
another mistake to you." Numb,
Linkin Park.

Sowon was on her own now and she made the choice, she didn't regret it one bit though. She had to get away, she had to be free for once. It had been so long since she felt like she could be herself. She was finally free and she loved every bit of it. For once in her life, she felt genuinely happy. The trees brought her a refreshing smell that made her just want to run around and be like a normal happy little kid.

She hadn't ever felt that sense of vulnerability because ever since she was born she had to watch her own back and worry that someone was coming after her. It was relieving. She felt like a new person, she wanted to be a new person. She felt alive and not like a robot just roaming the earth. She laid down on the wet grass and looked up at the bright blue sky, a smile finally appearing on her face.

She loved the way she was currently feeling. It wasn't like something she's ever felt before. She was happy and that's all she ever wanted. She didn't even mind the insects crawling up her bare arms. She stared at them sympathetically. She could understand them somehow. She knew what it was like to be stepped on.

They always brought her down. Anyone she ever got close to stepped on her like an ant. She was nothing but a meaningless bug crawling around looking for some sort of safety.

After awhile she stood up and shaked the grass and bugs off her. She kept exploring the forest she'd never been to before. It was much more beautiful than the one she lives by. This one was colorful and lively. It even smelt fresh and the trees looked healthy. Where she lives the trees were all dead and there's not much grass, just dirt.

She was fine until her dry throat and growling stomach became noticeable. She couldn't go home where her money and other stuff were, she wouldn't go.

She walked and walked until she could find even just a puddle of water. Then suddenly she could hear and smell it, the fish flopping along the shore. She followed the scent and was met with a pretty big lake. She never liked fish that wasn't bought from the market but she was going to take a sip of the water. She pulled her hair back and crouched down onto the floor. She cupped her hands and brought the water up to her dry lips. It didn't taste great but it was better than nothing. It was extremely salty but she didn't mind.

She stood up and wiped her hands on her pants to dry them. She continued down the empty path alone. She was startled when her phone began vibrating in her back pocket. It was Eunha again of course. Everyone had still been trying to get a hold of her which was annoying. She thought maybe they'd give up soon but they wouldn't stop until they found her. They knew Sowon, she wouldn't answer till she wanted to come back.

Sowon hadn't even read the messages they've sent her. She wondered what they were up to and sometimes she almost texted them to ask how they were doing but she stopped herself each time.

EH: answer the phone god damnit

SB: I miss you, come back...

UJ: you're fucking annoying everyone

Of course most of her messages were from Eunha. She didn't expect Eunbi to apologize though. She would think that Eunbi would apologize in person to make it seem more genuine but she knew either way that she wasn't actually sorry.

EH: I hate you so much right now

EH: Sowon you're killing me

EH: come home

SB: I'm genuinely sorry, Sowon. Please come back. We need you at a time like this. You're our only hope.

YJ: it's me bitch :)

Yuju never knew how to stay serious in situations like this. Everyone thinks she has no brain cells left, or if she had any to begin with. The group always worried about how Yuju would make it in the real world when she's older.

Sowon checked the last message that was sent to her from a few minutes ago. It was Eunha of course but she didn't expect the message to not be about how much of an asshole she is.

EH: I'm sorry. I know I gave up really early and it makes me look like a bad person but you're just too difficult. I tried everything and today I'm finally giving it up. I'll stop now because I know that's what you want. I do want you to know though, you're killing us. Tomorrow we'll try to make our attack on the pack and we won't have you to help us. If we never see you again, farewell Kim Sojung.

Sowon rolled her eyes once she looked at how long the message was. Who even sends such long messages? No matter how important it was or how much detail there had to be Sowon's messages were always only at least 2 sentences.

After reading the message she knew she had to go back, she had to stop playing her dumb games. She seemed so childish but she was only just realizing.

She tried her best to find her way back but soon she got lost. Unfortunately her gps wouldn't work in this area. Sowon sighed and thought of what she would do.

The sun was already fading away, leaving Sowon alone in the dark again. The moon provided dim lighting but not much. At least she was able to see a few yards around her.

She kept walking until suddenly she heard a bunch of footsteps and bushes rustling. She showed no fear but really she wanted to shrink because she was afraid.

"Sojung...it's been 3 years." Sowon turned around to face the male alpha. She didn't even have time to blink before she felt someone come up behind her and knock her out cold.

"A whole 17 years...you're lucky."
