"It kills to say I knew you'd
let me down." A Way To Say
Goodbye, Seven Lions. After Eunha fell asleep Eunbi received a message from Umji to meet her at the park. Eunbi tried to convince her that now wasn't the right time because it was raining but Umji couldn't wait. Eunbi quietly left Eunha alone and went downstairs to find a rain jacket since she knew Sowon didn't have any umbrellas. Of course Sowon didn't have rain jackets either.
Eunbi sighed and put her shoes on. She closed the door behind her and stood under the porch for a second to look at how much it was raining. She ran off and forgot to lock the door with the spare key under the mat. Eunbi was lucky the park wasn't far from Sowon's house. She found Umji on the swing set barely making any movement.
"Umji." Eunbi sat on the swing next to her. She tried ducking her head under Umji's umbrella but she was too far away.
"Hey." she responded with no emotion. She looked sad but Eunbi thought she always looked a little sad lately.
"Is there a reason why I'm here? You already said you couldn't find Sowon, is there something else?" Eunbi asked. There was no point in coming here, well at least there wasn't for Eunbi but Umji clearly wanted to say something.
"It's been so much about Sowon lately, she's causing all this chaos and I'm getting sick of it. Do I have to do something horrific to get attention from you guys? Why is it me who has to be the outcast?" Umji spoke up. Ever since Umji joined the pack she had been holding this in. She finally had enough of it.
"Umji that's-"
"No. I'm nothing but a person who helps you with technology stuff. You're just using me. When will I get to shine? You all doubt my abilities. There are wonderful things I can do to help but you guys push me away and tell me to stick with my computer. I'm a werewolf too, I'm strong." Umji kept it cool and tried not to raise her voice. She just wanted to scream it all out but she knew that wouldn't solve the problem.
"Umji, why would you think that? Has someone been saying something to you?"
"No, Eunbi, it's not what I think, it's what I know. Just admit it already, you guys don't care about me, you guys don't need me. You think you're better off without me. The only person who ever cared was Sowon. Now that she's gone you're gonna push me away too? Just like you did to her?" Umji knew that all along Sowon was the only one who would actually care about her. Because unlike Eunbi and Eunha, Sowon knew what it was like. Well that's what Umji thought.
"What the hell are you trying to say? I'm not the one that pushed her away!" Eunbi unintentionally raised her voice.
"Yes you did. You drove her to the edge and now you're doing the same to me. Who's next? Yuju? Eunha? I know it wouldn't be Yerin because you love that stupid bitch more than anything. She's not even a good friend." Umji scoffed. She was utterly sick of Eunbi only giving a damn about Yerin.
"She's not a bitch! Maybe you're just the bitch! You just want attention! Is it because your parents don't give you any? Huh? You're jealous!" Eunbi repeated the same mistake that made Sowon leave and now maybe Umji would too.
"I knew you'd be like this. I hoped we could work this through but you're blinded by love." Umji scoffed again and began walking away from Eunbi.
"Umji! Umji, wait!" Eunbi called out but Umji kept walking and ignored her. Eunbi was left to drown in guilt.
🐺🌑🐺
When Eunbi got back to Sowon's house she realized the door was left unlocked. She ran inside and quickly ran up the stairs to see if Eunha was okay.
"Where were you?" Eunbi found Eunha sitting on the edge of the bed.
"I was talking to Umji." Eunbi sat down next to her.
"What would you be talking about this late at night?" Eunha asked.
"Nothing. She was just wondering what was going on with Sowon, that's all." Eunbi lied. At some point everyone would find out how Umji felt.
"Do you think we'll find her? I know Sowon very well and if she doesn't want to be found then she won't be."
"We'll find her soon so don't worry about it. You know how strong she is, she'll make it back just fine." Eunbi tried to reassure Eunha. Eunbi's comfort didn't really help but it was better than being alone.
They both jumped when they heard a knock at the door. Who could be knocking on a door this late at night? They both tiptoed down the stairs with Eunha behind SinB.
"Maybe it's Sowon?" Eunha gave a weak smile. She could only hope it was her girlfriend returning.
"Why do you have a knife? You're a werewolf." Eunbi looked at Eunha who was behind her holding a knife.
"Safety precautions." Eunha whispered. Eunbi tried looking through the window to see if she could see the person but it was too dark.
"Eunha, what if it's a killer? Or what if it's that pack? We won't be able to kill them all." Eunbi was stressing. She didn't want to open the door but what if it was Sowon.
"I hope it's Sowon but if it is then she would've used the spare key." Eunha said.
"Oh, shit. Eunha, I'm scared." Eunbi hid behind Eunha.
"We're both werewolves, we can do this, okay? The person might be getting impatient so let's open it." Eunha slowly reached for the door knob with the knife ready in her hand. They both sighed when they saw a man standing there, he looked to be around his 40's. "Sweet baby jesus. Who are you?" Eunha asked and lowered the knife.
"I'm looking for Kim Sojung, does she live here?"
"Not at the moment, sorry." Eunbi answered and looked at Eunha with a confused expression.
"Oh, sorry I don't mean to be a bother so late at night. I'll get going then." He bowed and left Eunha and Eunbi confused.
"Do you know him?"
"No, do you?" Eunha asked.
"No. He was old, why would he be looking for Sowon?"
"Sowon gets involved with some weird people." Eunha said. They both ignored what just happened and went back to Sowon's room.
They both didn't know how important that man was.
