Meryl woke up later when she thought she heard Don's voice; and a woman's voice. She realized she must have fallen asleep after nursing the babies earlier in the afternoon. She looked and saw that the babies were in the bassinet. She grabbed her glasses, that her husband had obvious taken off of her after she nursed and placed on the bedside table, and went to see where he had disappeared to. She heard him say thank you and close the suite door; and then she heard him lock it. She felt much better after their time together earlier; but she was still scared to death for him and their twins. She also knew how worried he was about her; and so she decided to have a little fun with him. "Sad you had to say good-bye to your girlfriend?"
"And where are you going?" Don asked after he turned around and saw the playful glint in her eyes. "Because you have been my only girl for 34 years now growing strong; and I plan for you to be for much, much longer."
Meryl smiled as she walked over to him and played with the chest hair that peeked out of the top of his polo shirt. "Who was the slut?"
"Such a mouth on you; I like it." Don laughed with a kiss to her lips. "I'll tell you in a minute; but first I want you to have a seat on the couch, and I will be right back. Don't move."
Meryl was worried about all he was doing; and decided to break character. "Baby, do you need me to do something? Whatever you're up to let me help."
"Then it wouldn't be a surprise." He said walking her over to the couch; and gently pushing her down before kissing her lips as he leaned on his crutches. "Please sit; that's what you can do to help me."
Meryl flirted with him a little bit. "That's usually my line."
"I won't be long." Don said giving her the smile that always made her want to jump his bones. "Relax." He then went into the bathroom just off the entry way of their huge suite and closed the door.
Meryl leaned her head back against the back of the couch and closed her eyes. Yes, in the past 24 hours they had been thrown a hell of a curve ball. Just the thought of someone wanting to hurt her husband and children shook Meryl to her core. Yes, she was tough. Yes, she had been through some of the unthinkable in her life. At the first mention of ANYTHING happening to her husband and children; and she quickly unraveled. It also hurt her how people would attack her husband. She meant what she always said in the press; her husband was literally the best person she knew and the reason why she drew breath. She thought of how he was constantly there for her during the Kevin Mann shit; and she knew she would do the same for him in a HEARTBEAT.

Don looked around the bathroom and he was proud of what he had done. He wrapped up the finishing touches on her surprise and stripped down to his boxers; and hobbled out to his wife. He smiled that no longer than he was in the bathroom finishing up her surprise that she had fallen asleep. He knew that was testament to how exhausted and worn out her body was; and he was bound and determined it would get the rest and healing that it was obviously demanding. Part of him hated to wake her up; but the other part of him knew his surprise would help her relax even more. He went in to their bedroom to make sure the babies' video monitor was on, then he opened the app on his phone and sat it on the counter in the bathroom, then went back to his wife. Sitting down and brushing his lips across hers. "Hey there, beautiful; wake up."
"Huh?" Meryl stirred awake; and saw her favorite pair of piercing blue eyes staring back at her. "I didn't fall asleep again; did I?"
Don nodded as he stroked her cheek bones. "You need it; but I thought you might also need your surprise."
"If it has to do with only you in your boxers; then I definitely need it." Meryl sauced as she rubbed her hands up and down his strong chest. "Not sure what I did to deserve this; but thank you."
