Meryl woke up the next morning feeling completely relaxed. She and her husband had an amazing evening with their family as they planned her and Don's upcoming wedding, she showed her husband how damn much she loved him over and over and over again, they had some one on one time cuddling their babies after their midnight feeding and then they fell asleep in each other's arms. Meryl's body felt completely relaxed as she realized her husband was still holding her protectively against his body even as they slept. Her smiled grew as she heard the faint and soothing sounds of their infant twins sleeping away in their bassinets by the bed. Meryl didn't know the last time she felt so relaxed; and as she looked beside her it seemed from the smile on her husband's face that he was feeling just as relaxed. Then her mind went to thinking about what day it was-Monday. Only a week ago she and Don made love in the shower before their world was turned upside down. Several hours later she came home to the realization that the woman who had been threatening her husband and babies had drugged her husband and taken their babies. Her worst nightmare came true; though she was so grateful that they weren't hurt worse than they were, as what they went through was bad enough. Meryl knew that her husband wasn't legally raped, to which she was so grateful, but in her mind what he went through was just as bad as what she went through. She was beyond proud of the amazing leaps towards healing he had made; and she loved him even more than she ever had. She leant down to place soft kisses on the bruises and marks on his chest and tears came to her eyes. She was so glad he was no longer self-conscious about he bruises because to her it showed how much he fought for her and their family. She couldn't help the tears that dripped down from her eyes as she continued to kiss his bruises, in hopes that it would somehow heal him from the scars he was now bravely carrying around with him. The last things she wanted was to wake him up, but she just couldn't seem to keep her lips off his body.

Don woke up happily, grinning, as he felt his wife's hair tickle his skin and her lips tenderly kiss his chest. However, his smile soon turned to worry when he realized he was also feeling her tears dripping on his chest. He had no idea what was wrong; but he was immediately worried. They had such an amazing night together, and both couldn't wait for their wedding, that he couldn't imagine what could have upset her. He quickly opened his eyes and put his finger under her chin, making her look at him. As soon as he looked into those green eyes he loved so much he knew something was right; he also knew she was going to try to pretend everything was okay as soon as she spoke. "Hey baby, I hope I didn't wake you up."

"Who wants to sleep when their sexy as hell wife is kissing them like that?" Don smiled softly at her as he wiped away her tears. "Darl, what's wrong? Why the tears? I thought everything was okay."

Meryl tenderly kissed his lips as quickly as possible; not wanting him to think things weren't amazing between them. "Everything is perfect."

"These tears tell me otherwise." Don said as they turned on their sides to face each other. "So does the look in the eyes I love so much."

Meryl took a deep breath. "I woke up feeling so happy and at peace. I absolutely can't wait until Saturday. You were holding me tightly against you; which always makes me feel safer than anything. Our little miracles are still snoozing away. I never felt safer or happier or more at peace."

"I'm glad; I felt the exact same way when I woke up." Don stroked her cheekbone. "Until I realized you were crying."

Meryl thought of how to put it. "Do you remember when Mann shot me?"

"How could I forget?" Don choked as he ran his fingers through her hair. "Some of the worst moments of my life."

Meryl nodded as she couldn't resist his lips again. "I know, baby. After it happened and I was ashamed and embarrassed of the wound you told me how that wound was a reminder of how much I love you and our kids; and how I fought for you. You still say it about the scar."
