I just love writing Langst. Idk why. \_(•~•)_/ Also, I feel like there are a ton of versions of Langst like this, so if you feel like I copied you and/or someone else, please tell me and I'll take it down. (Original colors)
Please don't play the song yet!!

~Lance's POV~

The team, Allura, Coran, and I walked into this fancy palace. We're forming an alliance, and this is our first spot. We've been invited for dinner and a small party afterwards to get to know the people of the planet. Then, in the morning the leaders of the planet, Team Voltron, Allura, Coran, and I will have a meeting discussing the agreements of the alliance.
This week hasn't been very good mentally. I haven't slept well, for I have insomnia. If my teammates say anything bad about me, I have a panic attack. Basically, I'm having panic attacks everyday. My depression has gotten worse. I'm cutting a little more. Anyway, after we walked in, we heard clapping. Allura, being the princess she is, starting waving. Shiro stood and smiled at everyone, along with Hunk and Pidge. I was awkwardly smiling and waving a tiny bit. Keith was being Keith, not really doing anything. And Coran Coran the Gorgeous Man was blowing kisses into the crowd yelling, "Thank you, thank you! You're all too kind!"
"Welcome, Paladins of Voltron! We hope you enjoy your short stay at my palace!" The king, I assume, yelled over the clapping.
"Tonight, we're doing a few short activities for fun! The activities include: dining, dancing, mingling, and at the end, a game of karaoke! Karaoke is a tradition on our planet, so we would greatly appreciate it if you would participate!" After the king said karaoke I shot up smiling.
"But," he continued, "we have to sing songs that mean something to us!" Okay.. that is gonna be interesting.
Everyone in the palace soon gathered at the large, long table. The servants served delicious food, but I have no idea what it was. Then, we all danced. There was a slow song at one point. Shiro and Allura danced together. I totally ship them. Pidge and Hunk danced together, for they didn't want to disrespect the planets traditions. Keith and I just stood off in the corner. I like Keith, but I doubt he would like someone like me. After dancing, everyone started talking with each other about random things: family, interests, passions, hobbies, etc.
Finally, it was time for karaoke!
"I would like one of the paladins to start us off!" The king yelled, but not one of us wanted to go first, "Okay, I guess I get to pick! Hmmm..." he scanned all of us and stopped on me, "the blue paladin!" The aliens started cheering.
I walked up to the stage slowly. What do I sing?! All the songs I relate to are sad!!
"I understand it's hard to pick a song, so my people have invented a machine! This machine," he said holding up a headset, "will decide the best song for you that you know," he finished, putting the headset on me. After a second he took it off and yelled, "A song called 'To my parents' has been chosen! I'm assuming you know this song pretty well, yes?" I nodded.
  Soon, the background music started.

(Please play the song! Btw I DON'T OWN IT!!)

After I sang the song, I looked up, but I suddenly became shy. Everyone was cheering enthusiastically. Back on Earth I was always in choir and musicals, so I had an okay voice. But I never thought people liked it this much.
"Amazing job, Blue Paladin! Are you okay with sharing why this song is important to you?" I immediately shook my head no. Nope. No thank you. I don't need an entire planet knowing how much of a disappointment I am.
"Oh. Okay! Well, who would like to go next?" The king called. 3 dozen aliens shot their hands up screaming, 'I DO! I DOOOOOOOO'
I walked back up to my team and they were just staring at me.
"Is something wrong, guys?" I asked shyly.
"Why did the machine chose that song?" Shiro asked. His voice was filled with.. worry? Why is he worried? None of them, except Hunk and Coran, like me.
"I.. I'll explain all of it later. For now, however, just know I don't come from a happy family like you all though.."
"You don't?! Why are you always talking about how amazing your family is then?" Keith yelled, earning a few glances.
I shushed him while looking around before continuing, "I can dream what I want my family to look like."
