2-23: Now, to Sleep

Thor joined Astra and Streve in the fight, but no one said anything as they fought. An energy blast shot Steve in the abdomen as he rolled on the floor.

Astra watched as he fell and threw a knife at the chitauri's head. Thor got tired of the bastards and flipped a car over, crushing a few of the creatures. "Come one, get up." Astra told Steve while she held her hand out to him. He took it and she helped him off the ground.

"You two ready for another bout?" Thor asked.

"What you getting sleepy?" Cap joked.

"Please. I could do this all day." Astra chuckled as her breathing went back to normal. Thor chuckled slightly as well and summoned his hammer.

"I can close it." Nat informed through her coms. "Can anybody hear me. I can shut the portal down."

"Do it!" Steve commanded desperately.

"No wait." Tony stopped.

"Tony, these things are still coming." Astra stated tiredly.

"I got a nuke coming in, it's gonna blow in less than a minute." He told them. " And I know just where to put it."

"Wha- what does he mean by that?" She asked, hoping it wasn't what she was thinking.

"Stark, you know that's a one way trip." Cap said.

"Ash," The sister heard.

"Tony." Her voice started to tremble.

"I've got less than I minute, but sis, yes you're adopted but you are my sister. And I love you." He spoke his goodbye. "I don't say that enough, but I do."

"I know." She said as tears began forming in her grey eyes.

"Just, be good kiddo. And- and tell Pepper-"

"I know." She repeated softly, letting some tears fall. "I love you, and come back to me." He flew above her with the nuke and up to the portal. The world slowed down for her as she watched and waited for him so come back down. The chitauri around them fell, meaning that the nuke worked.

"Close it." Steve ordered.

"No!" Astra yelled and ran up to Steve. "He has to come back! He has to!"

"I'm sorry." He spoke softly. She looked back up at it and watched it close.

"No." She whispered. It felt as if the world stopped completely and she fell to her knees. Her marking and hair color faded, the tears treating terribly to escape.

"Son of a gun." Steve muttered, catching Astra's attention as she looked up, seeing a small speck fall from the portal -fast.

"He's not slowing down." Thor pointed as he starts spinning his hammer to fly towards.

The Hulk jumped from a building and grabbed him, then brought him to the ground. Astra stood up clumsily to get to her brother and ran towards the spot, Thor and Steve following her. She jumped over one last piece of rubble before she slid next to her brother.
