Yondu's Ship

Astra's gotta admit, out of her many outfits, this was her favorite. A black crop top that fit perfectly, Burgundy pants, and long leather Burgundy jacket that reached her mid-thigh. She ripped off the sleeves, showing her star tattoos. Then her black boots that reached her knee and fingerless gloves. But, a long over due hair cut awaited.

"Just do it, Ash." She stared at herself in the mirror. "You've wanted this for how long now? It'll grow back if you don't like it." She took one sharp breath and raised the scissors to her brown head and snipping off a piece. There it was, the first snip to a pixie cut. The sides were shorter, and if the longer stands were flattened they wound reach the bottom of her ear. But, she kept it swept to the side and loose.

She felt different, like a new version of herself that hung around criminals and talking animals. But, that's what she wanted, to find herself again.

"The Stone reacts to anything organic, the bigger the target, the bigger the power surge." Astra started explaining the plan to the Ravagers, surrounding her were the blue screens.

Quill took it from there. "All Ronan's got to do is touch the stone to the planets surface and zap. All plants, animals, Nova Corp."

"Everything will die." Gamora simplified it.

"So, Ronan does not make the surface." Quill told them and began pointing to the screen to visualize the plan. "Rocket will lead a team to blow a hole in the Dark Aster's starboard hull. Then, our craft and Yondu's will enter."

"Won't there be hundreds of Sakaaran soldiers inside?" A Ravager asked the obvious.

"I think of Sakaaren and peper people." Draz used a metaphor with the Ravager. The poor guy smiled and gave Drax a playful punch, Drax in return giving him a thrustful glare. The Ravager immediately turned away fearfully.

"Once they know we're onboard, Ronan will isolate himself behind impenetrable doors on deck." Gamora continued. "Which I can disable by dismantling the power source."

"He'll make it to the flight deck and I'll use the Hadron Enforcer to kill Ronan." Quill tried to sound heroic.

"Once Ronan is dead we will retrieve the Stone." Astra picked it up, taking a few steps forward. "Use these devices to contain it.  If you touch it. It will kill you."

"I'll contact one of the Nova officers who arrested us." Quill finalized. "Hopefully, they'll believe we're their to help."

"There's one more thing we need to complete the plan." Rocket announced loudly. "That guy's eye." He pointed to an unfortunate Ravenger with a mater piece replacing his right eye.

"No. No, we don't." Quill denied. "No, we don't need that guys eye."

"No, seriously. I need it." Rocket covered his mouth to hide his snicker. "It's important to me."

"Ronan's fleet has been spotted and will arrive in T-minus 15 minutes." The robotic voice announced to the ship.

"Hey." Astra asked for her sister's attention. "I know my coming wasn't great, but it's nice having a space sister." She grinned.

"Well, I'm glad I have a sibling that isn't trying to kill me. Disregarding our first encounter." Gamora responded, a grin on her face as well. "Can I ask about the ring around your neck?"

"The ring, is a promise ring, from my guy on Terra." Astra admired it, twirling the gold ring in her hands. Gamora watched the love in Astra's grey eyes while she looked at it, wondering if she can have that in her own life one day.

Not wasting anymore time the group met up in the main hallway, strutting down casually. It would have looked very heroic if Quill didn't need to wipe his nose, or if Gamora didn't yawn. Or just if Astra didn't almost trip on a loose board.

"This is a terrible plan." Gamora spoke inside the Milano and flying out to Ronan's ship.

"Hey, your the one who said you wanted to die among friends." Quill laughed while flying the ship.

The fleet of Ravagers slowed down as they approached the large, black ship. The first part of the plan was that two the ships would fire, causing a distraction to get under the ship. "Fire!" Yondu commanded, signaling the two large ships to send their fireballs and creating a wall so they don't see on the other side. "Cover it down. Submerge."

All the ships dove down beneath the large fire wall. held on to the seat tightly as it went straight down and then straight up. "Rocket hurry!" Quill ordered the raccoon, who just flew past them to begin shooting at their entrance.

"Incoming!" Astra spotted Ronan's ship coming down and Quill avoided them the best he could.

"Quill, Yondu, now!" Rocket called and Quill sped up the ship. Dodging all the yellow explosions that were happening in front, to the side, above, everywhere.

"Hell!" Yondu exclaimed from not too far behind, the wind of his ship blown off as he plummeted to the ground. "I'm going down Quill! No more games with me boy. I'll see you at the end of this."

Wasn't too much of a surprise that Quill wasn't paying to much attention to Yondu's voice. After all, he needed to pay close attention to avoid being blown to bits. A blast his their own ship, only shaking it a bit, but still worrisome. "There's too many of them, Rocket!" Gamora called. "We'll never make it up there."

Only moments after she said that, Ronan's ship were the ones being blasted at. "Xandarian ships!" Astra called out with a grin planted on her face.

"Peter Quill. This is Denarian Saal of the Nova Corp." One of the officers proclaimed though the coms. "For the record, I advised against trusting you here."

"They got my dick message!" Quill exclaimed while looking up at the ship.

"Prove me wrong." Officer Saal gave an annoyed tone and Quill sped up the ship even more and straight through the entrance Rocket created.

The landing was rough and bumping everywhere, the ship scraped across the sides harshly and sent sparks in the air. "Yes!" Drax laughed from beside Astra, who gave him a confused glance. Green blasts hit the ship as even more of Ronan soldiers shot at them. Quill made a sharp right, shoot at them in return, all the while Drax was laughing. The ship finally stopped and the soldiers were either dead of fleeing. "Yes!" Drax continued to laugh as Astra worked to take of the belt strapped around body.

"We're just like Keven Bacon." Gamora commented to Quill.

Astra, who only heard the last word popped her head in to comment. "Did I hear bacon?" Quill and Gamora looked at her funny before she got them back on task. "That's unimportant right now, lets go." She turned thank then went back around. "But after this can we get bacon?"

"If we can find some." Quill muttered, and he himself began to take off his seatbelt.
