Milano Pod

--

During the ride, Astra stood up, walking to the back of the pod to look out of the circular window. She heard heavy footsteps behind her, as Thor went to stand beside her.

"So, you are the daughter of Thanos." He said dimly, resting his arm on the rim of the window.

She continued to look out and shook her head. "I didn't ask for this." She said. "You know, I spent 25 years thinking that Howard Stark was my father. Turns out he's really some maniac who's life goal is to destroy half of life."

Thor looked down at her, he brown, shoulder length hair fell neatly, looking golden against the sunlight that shined through. "And your mother was a cosmicite?" He asked.

"With the same blood thirst as Thanos." She answered flatly.

"A cosmicite?" He repeated softly. "I can't believe they're real?" Astra only nodded as Thor smiled a bit. "I was brought up believing they were fictional. Extraordinary beings they are. I was told a story that 5 of them worked together to throw an entire planet at an enemy ship. Is that true?" Astra let her lips curve upwards at bit as Thor sounded like a child. She nodded at him and his grin got larger. "Then our chances for winning this war is good."

There was an uncomfortable silence between them at they looked outside. "I'm sorry." Astra apologized and Thor looked down confused. "For Thanos killing Loki and Heimdall. And your people."

"Its not your fau-"

"But it is." She interrupted him sharply. "Since Thanos found me I knew what was happening. And I hoped to stop it by keeping the Stones away from him and to do that, I needed his trust. I killed so many people, Thor. Half a planet at a time and as time went of it got easier. I'm just like him." Her speaking was barely a whisper, but Thor could hear her, so could Rocket and Groot.

Thor placed his hands on the girls shoulders. "You're not like him, Ash."

She dangled her head, shaking it 'no'. "I thought that it needed to be done. I needed his trust and I took the easy way. If he wins this, I don't know how I'll feel."

Thor really didn't know how to respond, bringing her into a hug. "He won't win." He assured her. There was a comfortable silence between the two old friends, well the silence wasn't comfortable for Rocket and Groot.

"I am Groot." The teenage Groot complained, the moment ruining and Astra pulled away from Thor and rolling her eyes at the teen.

"Tinkle in the cup. We're not looking, what's there to see?" Rocket told him in return. "What's a twig? Everyone's seen a twig before."

"I am Groot."

"Tree, pour what's in the cup out into space and go in the cup again." Thor suggested with a flat tone.

Rocket turned in his chair, looking at the god. "You speak Groot."

"Yes, they taught it on Asgard. It was an elective."

"I am Groot."

"You'll know when we're close." Thor answered him. "Nidavellir's forge harnesses the blazing power of a neutron star." He took a seat, slouching depressingly. "It's the birthplace on my hammer. It's truly awesome."
