“Ashley do you take this man to be your lawfully wedded husband forever and always?” He said to me and I felt the lump rise in my throat and my eyes watered, “Of course I do,” I choked, smiling at the man in front of me. “Riker do you take this woman to be your lawfully wedded wife forever and always?” “I do,” He said seriously, but he had the biggest smile on his face. “Well, by the powers vested in me by the state of California, I now pronounce you Husband and Wife, Riker you may kiss your bride.” I grinned at him, moving closer and he brought his hands to my cheeks, wiping a tear and pressing his lips to mine as the clapping roared and all I heard was Ross and Rocky whistling and wooing and I loved it.

I backed away, smiling at him and taking his hand in mine. We walked back down the aisle together, where just 30 short minutes before I stood with my dad, walking towards my future. The limo pulled drove to the reception hall where we would be taking pictures outside with our families and the wedding party. “We just got married!” Riker smiled, kissing my again, this time his eyes lit up with excitement. “I know,” I cried, smiling so wide I was scared it would start to hurt. I looked at my now husband, who’s sweet tie matched the flowers in my hair, a beautiful baby blue. His eyes wandered down my dress and back up, “I never got a chance to tell you how beautiful you look in that dress.” He smiled, “You look so gorgeous Ashley,” I blushed, “Thank you, you look so handsome,” I said, taking his hand.

We got out and got to see the reception hall quickly before others began to arrive. They had set up everything perfectly. The lights were string beautifully from the ceiling and the DJ had his booth set up in the corner and our tables were aligned just right. The tables had their centerpieces, candles in different shades of blue and silver placemats. The cake was white and round, 5 tiers and had icing flowers all over it. The dessert bar was set up, thanks to my sister Alyssa and brother Nick who made cookies, brownies, and different kinds of homemade candies for 6 hours last night.

We went outside to see the garden and the photographer had us stand by fountain and kiss several times, Riker started getting funny, picking me up and dipping me close to the ground to kiss me. The wedding party and our parents and family arrived and we took pictures with each other and the wedding party. I took separate pictures with my sister, who was my maid of honor. After a while of family shots and kissing we were told it was time to go inside.

The DJ introduced our bridesmaids and groomsmen then finally it was our moment. “I love you so much,” Riker smiled, squeezing my hand. “I love you too, baby,” I said. “Please, for the first time help me in welcoming, Riker and Ashley Lynch!” A chorus of cheers and whistling began and we ran out of the hidden room. We waved to all of the people and got to start the food train, grabbing salad and chicken, along with a multitude of other choices I had forgotten we had chosen. We went to sit down at our special table, just the two of us. After we ate a few people came over to offer their congratulations. “You look like a princess,” One of Riker’s little cousins told me when she gave me a hug. “Thank you, so do you,” I smiled at her sweetly, holding the hand of my husband. We went to cut the cake, feeding it to each other messily, just like Riker had wanted to practice. The vision of Riker and me in our kitchen attempting to practice feeding each other had turned into a huge food fight, making us both laugh and sit on the floor, eating cake with our fingers and then eating each other’s cake with each other’s fingers.

“Okay,” spoke a familiar voice from the microphone. Riker and I turned to look at Rocky and Ross, who had champagne glasses in both of their hands, time for the best man speech. Riker chuckled at the sight of them up there, “This should be good,” He whispered to me, putting his arm around me and taking the glass in his hand, “Riker,” Rocky said, “Well, wait, in case you don’t know me, I’m the best man, and I’m single ladies,” “Co best men! And I’m single also ladies,” Ross commented, making a chorus of woos come from my single girl friends around the room. “Anyways,” Rocky continues, “I’m Rocky and this is Ross and we are two of his brothers.” He smiled, looking at Riker, “He asked Ross and me to be co- best men at his wedding Ross and I were both thrilled. So here goes the embarrassing story that we have to tell, Riker.”

“Oh lord,” He whispered to me. “Rocky handed Ross the mic and Ross cleared his throat, “Of course when Rocky and I accepted this position, we knew there was one big thing we had to do, a bachelor party.” “Oh God,” Riker’s face reddened. “Riker had expressed he didn’t want a regular party and we respected that, so we kidnapped him and made him go, but instead of it working out as planned, it didn’t.” Ross laughed, looking at Riker. “First of all, we drove all night to find some place that was supposed to be two hours away, all of us in tow, Myself, Rocky, our brother Ryland, and our best friend Ellington. Rocky drove with my shotgun and Riker was in the middle of the backseat blindfolded and confused.”

He paused to laugh, “Then after driving for 6 hours, we ran out of gas because this idiot forgot to fill up,” Rocky blushed, looking down, then we had to call our dad to pick us up at 3 am in the middle of nowhere. Only to find out we had an interview the following day early in the morning.” Riker looked down in shame, “So Riker, the smart one as he is, decided to pull out the alcohol we had brought and we had a pretty great time with that until our dad showed up and yelled at us for drinking on the side of the road sorry dad,” rocky took the mic, “Well, that had nothing to do with Riker, we just love telling that story, so here’s the real deal yo,” He looked at Riker, “You’ve made stupid decisions and so have we. Kidnapping you was stupid and you pulling out the drinks was stupid, but if I’ve seen someone make the best decision in their lives it was you deciding to marry her. Ashley, you’re like a sister to me and I am so happy to see you and Riker having this happily ever after that you deserve. I love you both and congratulations.” He concluded, stepping down, “And also, Riker sings show tunes when he gets drunken, farewell!”

Everyone laughed and the DJ put on our song for the first dance. Riker took my hand, helping me up and we danced together for a long while until our parents joined us and then others. I laid my head on his shoulder and he kissed my forehead, “I’m so lucky,” he whispered to me. “I’m so lucky,” I smiled to him, reaching my head up to reach his lips to mine and smiling at him.

At the end of the night everyone lined the doors and we ran out into Riker’s car, being blown with bubbles as we exited. Riker opened my door, allowing me to see the writing on the edge of our windows in Rydel’s handwriting, “Lovebirds,” “Just Married,” and “Happy couple,” was among them. I waved off to my parents and my family happily, then turning to my husband as he took my hand, “Home Mrs. Lynch?” He smiled, pulling out into the street. “Of course Mr. Lynch,” And I leaned over to kiss his cheek.
