Esmee’s Point of View
“Good night Amsterdam!” Ross yelled at the top of his voice, he turned his gaze to my direction at the side of the stage and made a kissy face at me. I smiled and waved at him as he came towards me. “You’re sweaty!” I yelled as he engulfed me into a huge hug. I pulled away and was immediately pulled in by yet another sweaty boy behind me, “Ugh, Riker!” I yelled, squirming to get away from him. “You guys stink!” I laughed. “Guys,” Stormie yelled to them, “It’s time to do signings, now!” She motioned for them to come down to her.
Ross came over to me and kissed me on the lips quickly, “Will you wait in the bus? I’ll be there in an hour? I promise.” He said, holding my hand. “Of course, babe,” I smiled. “Keep my phone will you?” he asked. I nodded at him, taking his phone and he sped off. Quickly he froze, running back to me and sticking his cheek close to my face, pointing to it with his finger. I rolled my eyes happily; kissing his cheek like he asked and watching him run off to meet up with the rest of his band. “I love you Esmee!” He called out to me. “I love you too Ross,” I smiled, watching him turn the corner.
I walked quietly off to the tour bus with Ryland, who talked with me and asked how things with Ross were going and if I was enjoying being on tour with them. We had been going out for 6 months now and he asked me to tour Europe with them, so here I was! Right now we were in my home country of Holland and it was so fun being back after all this time away. “He’s crazy for you, ya know,” Ryland laughed, opening up the door to the bus and allowing me to step in. “That’s sweet,” I said, making myself comfortable on the couch. Ross and I usually shared his bunk, but on rare occasions it would get too hot, or something would happen and I would sleep on the couch.
His phone buzzed from inside my pocket and I picked it up, looking at the bright screen, an incoming text from Cierra, “Ryland?” I asked, calling to him from across the bus, “Yeah?” He said in response. “Who’s Cierra?” He shrugged at me, “I don’t know, a girl?” I rolled my eyes, “Thanks!” I set the phone down, but continued to look at it. ‘I shouldn’t pry,’ I thought, ‘That’s his personal phone and I wouldn’t want him snooping.’ But I couldn’t shake the feeling, ‘Who was Cierra?’ I thought to myself.
I quickly picked up the phone and opened it, reading the message carefully. “We have to go out to that new restaurant for dinner when you get back in the states! We can discuss things there! Can’t wait!” My jaw dropped, ‘First of all, who was this and why was she making dinner plans with my boyfriend?’ I set the phone down, fuming mad and went to sit in Ross’ bunk until he came back. After a few minutes the bus got noisy and I figured they were back, “Where is she?” Ross asked someone, “Your bunk, I guess,” Ryland answered.
Ross poked his head in, “Hey baby,” He said, leaning in to kiss me but I stayed still. “Hi,” I said blankly. “What’s wrong?” He asked, looking confused, “Everything okay?” I climbed out of the bunk, “Your friend Cierra texted you,” I said sternly, crossing my arms over my chest and looking at him. His eyes grew wide and his body stiffened. “So?” I said. “What?” He said, “There’s nothing to say,” “I think there is Ross, are you cheating on me or you just go out to dinner with her as friends?”
“What?” He paused, shaking his head and stepping closer to me, “You think I’d cheat on you? I am not cheating on you, nor would I ever, why would you think that?!” He yelled. The family had grown silent and had moved to the back of the bus to give us privacy. “Then why don’t you mention her, hmm? Usually you’d mention a friend to your girlfriend.” “She’s not a friend, she’s a, a,” He thought for a minute. I studied him intently, “Save it then. I get it you don’t like to label the relationship,” Ross groaned, “She’s working for me okay! She works for me, she is a jeweler and she’s supposed to be helping me find you a birthday present, but now maybe I won’t go to dinner with her, maybe I won’t get you a present, maybe we should just break up now because you don’t trust me!” He shouted, turning around quickly and hopping into his bunk, not saying anything else.
I stood frozen, “Oh my god,” I whispered, putting my head into my hands. I sat down on the couch and let tears fall from my eyes, “How could I have been so stupid?” I cried to myself. “You aren’t stupid, honey,” A voice said. I brought my hands down and looked up to see Stormie with a tissue. “Thanks,” I said, taking it from her and wiping my eyes. “I am stupid,” I cried. “He loves me so much and I had the audacity to think he would cheat on me.”
“Esmee its okay,” She said, sitting down next to me, it happens, everyone has doubts sometimes.” “But I was such a jerk just now! I didn’t even let him explain anything. I yelled at him for something that wasn’t true, Stormie,” She nodded, “You did, but you did it out of love.” I looked up, “What do you mean?” I sniffed. “You love that boy more that then moon loves the stars, and he loves you so much he never stops talking about you.” She sighed, taking my hand and speaking quietly, “It’s going to be okay, he shouldn’t have raised his voice either. Now you know that both of you should definitely think before you speak and that you should let each other hear what you have to say, but also listen when the other when they have something to say, alright?” I nodded my head, “Thank you Stormie,” I said, hugging her, “I need to talk to him now,” I said, getting up.
I opened the curtain slowly to reveal Ross with his eyes closed and ear buds in his ears, “Ross,” I said quietly. He didn’t flinch. “Ross,” I said a little louder, tapping his shoulder. He opened his eyes and looked at me. “Yes?” He said, taking out one ear bud. “Can we talk?” I asked, “Please?” He nodded, hopping down from the bunk and moving to the couch. Stormie had returned to the back with the others.
He sat down next to me and I looked into his eyes, “I’m sorry,” I said, sighing, “I shouldn’t have jumped to conclusions that I didn’t know were true.” I said. “I love you very much you know that?” I asked, watching his gaze as it made its way to me. “Yeah,” He whined like a little boy. “I should have let you explain what it was,” I laughed, “And I shouldn’t have been snooping in the first place,” I said to him. “But I love you, and I won’t do anything like this again, I’ll always come to you first,” I smiled, taking his hand. “Do you forgive me?” I said, intertwining my fingers with his and watching his blond hair as he looked at the ground.
All at once his eyes met mine and he crashed his lips onto me, making me melt away in bliss. “I love you Esmee,” He whispered, “I will never ever do anything to hurt you, you know that right?” I nodded, kissing him again, “I know,” One by one the family returned from their hiding place and sat around us, “Now that everything’s okay,” Riker said, “Who wants to watch game of thrones?!” Ross laughed, “I guess we can,” I smiled, “Sounds good,” I stood, walking to the back of the bus, hand in hand with my sweet boy.
