The first time I met Rocky was after a show. I had been to two before. I had fallen for his dark eyes, his long hair, his tall figure, but I never thought I'd be able to actually fall in love with him. His voice made me weak in the knees. His eyes made my heart skip a beat, sometimes two.
                              The first time I met him I was a total wreck and I had no idea what to say to him. The boy I had loved for over a year without having known him, was standing in front of me, looking into my eyes, studying me as I was him.
                              "Can we take a photo?" I asked shakily, completely consumed in him and him only.
                               "Sure," he breathes effortlessly. I go closer to him, handing my phone to a friend nearby to take our picture. I wrap an arm around him and my heart races, 'I'm actually hugging him' I think to myself as the camera flashes. I'm the first to back away, completely aware that I don't want to be too clingy, too touchy, too fan girl-y, and he looks at me. "What's your name?" He asks with a tilt of his head.
                              "I- I'm Maddie," I manage, still unable to comprehend he's speaking to me.
                              "It's a pleasure to meet you Maddie." He says with a small smile. I nervously wave good bye to him as I walk to his sister. He waves back with a wink of his eye and I melt, collapsing happily into Rydel's arms for a hug.
                               *                     *                               *                         *                 *                  *
                              I rolled over in my large white bed, sighing happily as I look at my sleeping husband. He breathes in and out slowly, his long hair draped over the side of his face, the scruff on his cheek growing thicker with each day. I reached over and pulled myself against him just as I had the night I first met him, the same feeling of surrealness passing over me for a brief moment. Except this time I wasn't just thinking my idol was in my arms, I was thinking my life was in my arms, my love, and my everything.
                              *                 *                       *                                *                         *                  *
                              The following year I looked forward to seeing him again. He came on tour with a new album, and a new sound. He looked just as adorable. This time I purchased the opportunity to hug him again, a guaranteed way to say hello and smile with him.
                              As I made my way to see them again I smiled and hugged all of his siblings, his best friend, and finally my boy. "We've met before, right?" He asks me.
                               I nod my head happily, "Yeah, last year. After the concert."
                              "Nice to see you again... Remind me your name?" He asks. We snap the picture.
                              "Maddie." I tell him with a smile.
                              "You'll stay after the show again this year?" He asks sweetly. His father begins to wave me away and I nod my head at the tall boy, giving him a thumbs up, and he responds with a nod.
                              After the show he comes out of the bus nonchalantly, just as last time. A few fans stand around, no more than twenty. He's so generous. Giving up sleep time to come see us. He walks over to a few other girls and they take pictures and I wait patiently. When he's ready, we'll say hello.
                              I chatted with a few of the girls as Rocky makes his way over, "Nice to see you again Maddie." He puts his hand on the small of my back. The girls begin to squeal with excitement. They couldn't believe he had known my name. And this time he begins to make conversation. My heart beats quickly as we speak, his words flowing all too easily as mine struggle to pass my lips as I look at him with adoring eyes. He's so kind. Genuinely, honestly kind. Not fake.
                              I hadn't even realized the rest of his family had come outside. Rocky would stop momentarily, take pictures, and return to our conversation. I couldn't believe it. I was in heaven. "Can I ask how old you are?" He raises his eye brows.
                              "Just turned 19." I tell him with a grin. "Well how fantastic. Happy belated birthday." He says.
                              This is the point where any normal rock star would ask the fan up to their hotel room- to have sex most likely, but that was what made Rocky different.
                               "Thanks." I tell him, "You guys did good tonight."
                               "Thanks. That means a lot." He grins at me. "Listen, would you wanna get away for just a minute? A walk to this 24 hour coffee place we went to this morning?"
                              I swallowed and tried to remain cool, "I know which one you're talking about." I nod my head, "I'd love to." And we excuse ourselves, other people watch, some confused, some jealous, and I just tried to breathe steadily.
                              *                                *                      *                              *                                  *
                              "Good morning..." He groaned quietly as his arms wrapped around me.
                               "Well morning to you too..." I say with butterflies in my stomach at the memory. I kissed his cheek. "I love you."
                               "I love you too, Maddie." He says as he looks up at me. "What have you been thinking about?" He asks me with a smile.
                              "I was reminiscing of when we first met... And our first coffee date. That one really late at night." I reminded him.
                               "Oh yeah." Rocky nods his head, pulling me closer against him, "The one where I thought you were just so darn cute and you couldn't get over the fact that I, an actually real human being, had asked you to coffee at 12:45 in the morning. And you actually said yes."
                              "Oh shut up," I playfully smacked his bare chest, "I was as nervous as any other young adult girl would be, out with her favorite band member late at night. I barely knew you then."
                              "This is true." He said with a sigh. "I remember when I asked for your phone number you did the little dance by your car, and you didn't think I saw you, but I did."
                              I blushed at the memory, "Oh my god that's right..." I giggled and buried my face in his chest, "And I didn't actually think you'd call me, but you did. And then when you offered to drive the hour to come visit me, I really couldn't believe it." I smiled.
                              "Oh and then you drove and actually met the family formally and we spent the day together." He told me.
                              "I remember. That was so fun." I snuggled up closely to him, "I'm like the luckiest girl in the world."
                              I rolled over in bed and started to get up, "Where are you going?" He asks, "Stay right here." He adds and pulls me into the sheets again.
                              "How can I say no to you..." I tell him, kissing get him sweetly.
                              Every day I wake up to him and every day I still get butterflies remembering who he is and what he does to me. I think of how lovely is was to me when we met and how lovely he is now. How genuine he is with me. How lucky I am to call him mine. How did I get so damn lucky.
