"BRACE FOR IMPACT!"

I hear them all gasp.

A loud growl leaves my lips, I grip Candace to me and throw an arm across Abbey to keep them from feeling the impact.

Before the hunters can hit us, a loud, ground shaking roar bounces off the trees. I look up and see a fast-moving silver blackish colored Malia running towards the hunters.

My eyes widen, and a smile forms on my face.

She crashes into the hunters car, and they go flying across the forest.

Malia stands on two legs and lets a murderous roar out.

She finishes her roar and crouches in front of us.

I watch as the gun wounds heal on her back.

"Wait, wait, tell her to stand down!! Tell her to stand down or we'll shoot her!!" A heavy voice says from behind the trees.

I look away from my lycan and glare at the hunters that have shown up helping the others out the wrecked car.

I release Candace and lift the windows, stepping out, shutting it behind me.

Malia whips her head around to growl at me.

I roll my eyes, and she huffs, moving half her body in front of mine.

I lean against her large arm, crossing my ankles.

The hunters have their guns trained on the angry lycan, the angry lycan that is fighting her urges to rip them apart.

"Now, what in your right mind made you shoot at my lycan? She doesn't take to lightly to us being shot at or ya know, her being shot. It pisses her off, to be completely honest."

The head hunter snorts and walks towards us.

Malia lets out a growl and gets closer to the ground.

The hunters cock their guns, ready to let her have it.

"Tell her to back the fuck down or we put her down. You have to the count of 3 to tell her to shift back." The hunter says, lifting his gun at us.

I slowly blink at him.

He narrows his eyes at me.

"1"

A smirk spreads across my face.

"2"

I feel my eyes change to that of my vamp.

Malia's growls get deeper.

I hear the girls ready their guns if needed.

"3, take her down."

The hunters fire.

Malia throws me behind her and takes the bullets head on.

Her growls are getting deeper and deeper.

I giggle a little bit.

They are so dead.

"Hold your fire!" He yells, breathing hard.

All is quiet.

I peak around Malia and notice she's covered in blood.

My nose flares and eyes dialate, I can still smell the lions blood in her system. She's going to have to feed again.

I glance at her face. She's already looking at me. I smile and rub her cheek, watching as she nuzzles her face in my hand.

Walking around her, I shake my head at the hunters.

"Ok, look, guys, you're doing nothing but pissing her off. Trust me when I tell you to stop shooting at us and shooting at me. You're not only pissing her off, but you're starting to piss me off. You don't want a pissed off vampire and pissed off lycan now, do you?"

They look at each other and shake their heads no.

Grinning, I nod at them.

Malia is still breathing hard, but she's calm now.

"I told you to tell her to back down. I warned you, but you didn't listen. She wasn't supposed to get hurt. She was to be brought back to the camp with no damage to her." The lead hunter said to himself, pacing.

Snorting, Malia changes back and walks up to me, pressing her front against my back.

I lean into her, inhaling her animal scent.

"Are you going to come, or are we going to have to hurt your humans?" One of the female hunters questions, gripping her gun tight.

Malia growls, and I feel her fur start to sprout again.

Quickly turning, I rub her arms, calming her down.

She glances down at me but quickly glares back at the head hunter.

I really need to get names.

"They are mine! You will not touch them." Malia growls out.

The hunters gulp loudly but keep their guns drawn just in case.

I look back at my humans, and they are grinning, waiting for directions on what to do.

Taking a deep breath and rolling my eyes, I turn towards the hunters.

"If you touch my humans or my lycan again, I'll rip your throats out. Never had human blood, but for you, i'll make an exception."

The hunters gulp but nod anyway, getting into their cars that I didn't notice.

Narrowing my eyes at them, I glance over my shoulder at my humans, I watch them buckle up and make sure everything is good for the travel.

They look up and smile at me.

I feel the air shift from Malia changing.

Glancing at her, she's on all fours, waiting for me to jump on her back.

Rolling my eyes, I jump on and situate myself between her shoulder blades. Glancing at the waiting hunters, I narrow my eyes, and Malia growls.

"Lead the way."
