She tip toed her way to the balcony.
"boo!"
"There are other ways to get rid of me... scaring me into plunging to my death is way harsh...." Reid responded glancing over his shoulder at her.
"What are you doing in here. I almost peed my skirt when I saw you..."
He laughed quietly.
"Your wearing pants..."
She ignored his smart comment.
"Of all the places in the house to find you had to find my room,"
"I was just helping you look for ...the thing your looking for....."
"Permission slip...of course you were...And did you find it..."
"I'm still looking...."
"Yes, out here on the balcony; thats got to be where it's at....." she continued in her sarcasm. "...I've practically looked everywhere else anyway... searched the whole damn house...I give up...."
She went and stood next to him on the balcony as he took in the presidential view of all of Beverly heights from the second floor of the modern designed smart home.
"The view is amazing here. I don't get how you never want to stay home...this house is a castle..."
"I know, its not that I dont like it...it's just....lonely...Aunt T...my mother is hardly home...I guess it lacks what you guys have...."
"We don't have anything..."Reid replied puzzled.
"That cozy....warm..."
She felt his stare burning into her cheek as she tried to put her thoughts into words.
"You wouldn't get it..." she turned her head to look at him and there eyes met.
All of a sudden her heart skipped and she became aware of his arm pressed up against hers. A sudden chill came next, then a deep breath.
What was wrong with her. It was only Reid. She'd been pressed up next to him many times before.
She broke the gaze and went back inside as a strange nervousness to be next to him fell over her.
And he followed.
She propped herself down in the big beige sofa.
"hope you were'nt messing with my stuff."
"Wanted to....got lost. Cause your room is bigger than my whole apartment....look at this bed....are you telling me that you need all that space just to sleep in?"
"So...you got jokes..."
She got up from the sofa and busied herself as Reid continued to look around her huge suit style room.
She had leotards hanging over the sofa arm and paintings of ballerinas on the wall. Her perfectly made king size bed was scrupulously made with a fuchsia bed spread. The only thing in the room that was perfectly perfect.
The huge walk in closet door was ajar and shoes were scattered all over the floor of it."Sometimes I just bunk on the sofa...Cause it's comfy..." she replied while she searched the closet floor and kicked shoes around. "...and I fall asleep watching tv there sometimes, or I like sleeping with the lizard....like not sleeping with him but....you know just sleeping, untop of...Well, you get it. " she motion to the huge lizard cushion bed in the corner of the room. She didn't even look at Reid. She searched for something and her mouth just kept on moving. She got down on her hands and knees. And searched under the sofa then under the bed. "... I'm just saying, I don't always sleep on the bed, cause I get lost in the sheets and then I don't want to get up in the morning and...I'm rambling aren't I?"
"Its fine...I don't mind....we should be getting back though, don't you think?"
She crawled backward on all fours searching beneath her bed.
"I know....stupid school..." she mumbled ".....If I could just find my damn Louise V boots..." she got up in frustration and turned around to see what Reid was doing. But he was right there...A tip toe away. Standing against her bed post, apparently watching her search for shoes.
Her eyes met his gorgeous gaze.
And she was speechless.
She had transitioned from aimless banter to not being able to say a word.
Why?
She felt her cheeks get hot and her heart skipped not once, but twice.
"What the hell was that..?" she thought.
Why was she reacting to his gaze like a love struck puppy. She broke the gaze as it burned into her too much, too unbearably. And she turned her red cheeks away at a sudden shyness.
Reid had never seen her behave like that before. Kerry was never shy. Did She just blush? Were her cheeks hot because of him? Because his chocolate eyes burnt into her?
He got curious.
Excited.
He drew for a deep inhale as excitement did something to him that he couldn't find words for. He gently guided her chin with his hands so she was facing him again. Her eyes fell right back into his gaze. He lowered his lips to hers and magic happened when they met.
