Josh's English sessions with Chrisy had restarted.A new semester meant new grades. Which meant another quiz shortly, and he still had trouble. Not with his speech as much as with what he wrote down on paper. He still used words that Chrisy said did not belong. Like a doubt instead of a question, or I belong to Dehli, instead I am from Dehli. Those things would not fly in Ms.Bakers english class and without the required grade he could not stay on the soccer team.
They all had busy schedules but they were used to it. There was dance classes, cheerleading practice, football practice, tutor session, working at Horace and working at the Medical Centre.
But no matter what, there was always time for the beach, Sharkys, dates, boyfriend and girlfriend alone time, shopping at the mall, football games and spa days.
It was amazing how they fit everything into twenty-four hours and yet they never missed a school day.
Kerry tried to increase her hours at the dance studio. She so badly wanted to get into Julliard. Her solo peice for the audition was not going very well. A duet would have been better but no one at the studio seemed good enough. She would probably ask Chrisy to help her choreograph. Chrisy had this amazing sixth sense about how things would turn out and when she applied it to dance routines, they always came out exactly how she'd picture it in her head. Perfection every single time.
They welcomed friday evening. Nothing was better than the weekend.
Chrisy drove over to her house with Josh in the passengers seat. Now that she had gotten pink accents on her car Josh shyed away from driving. Being the passenger was tolerable but that's as far as he'd go...he didn't do pink.
He'd work for Horace a while if there was work, then he'd hang with Chrisy until Kerry and Reid were free, then they'd all meet at Sharky's.
"Its quiet in here," Josh said as they entered the house.
Chrisy smiled and raised one eyebrow at him in a smirk.
"She's up to something." he thought to himself.
He walked towards Horaces office and Chrisy followed. He pushed the half closed door and went in. The room was empty. No file folders on the desk, no laptop, no scattered stationary.
"Surprise!" Chrisy said.
"Where's Mr H?" he asked mystified.
"He had to fly to New York...so its just us..."
"What about Sebastian?" He asked noticing that there wasn't even the faintest smell of roasted chicken or curried shrimp coming from the kitchen.
"No dinner tonight, so Sebastian's gone to the store, he'll bring me back something..."
"Kenny?"
"Kenny drove him. It's just you and me."
"You lured me here against my will? Thats kidnapping..."
She went close to him and brushed her lips tenderly against his.
"Reid won't care." she replied. "So what do you think we should do with all this free time Josh?"
He saw mischief in her eyes, and there was that silly smirk again.
"I know that look and whatever you're thinking its a bad idea."
"I haven't even said yet. I just want to mess with dads stuff a little."
"I don't know...we should probably just go back to the den and..."
"Josh," she whined. "...get out of your head, live alittle. Stop over thinking for once." she said as she turned her father's sterio on to a low Jazz.
"And what? Be all rainbows and unicorns and sparkly raindrops like you?" he asked never taking his eyes off her.
