It was Sunday.

When Chrisy's eyes finally squinted open, the sun was pouring from the sky like rays of hot molten lava.

It seemed she had slept way past breakfast.

She had come in past midnight the previous night so she had expected to sleep late, but she didn't expect to feel like she'd been hit by a car. Her head spun and her stomach turned. Her body was achy and her limbs felt heavy like gravity pulled them into the ground. There was no strength in her.

She dragged herself downstairs. Her stomach wouldn't handle breakfast, but maybe some tea or some orange juice would have her feeling better in no time.

She wandered into the kitchen.

Immediately Sebastian recognized that she was not herself.

"Chrisy?" he called.

She didn't answer him. She found herself wanting to, but couldn't. Her skin suddenly felt clammy. An episode of chills, then a terrible heat gripped her. Then she knew she was falling, but she couldn't stop herself. Then everything went black.

She woke to the failimiar pink of her bedroom and her soft cotton sheets, but there was a faint smell of unfamiliarity in the air.

Instinctively she tried to move.

Her arm stung.

There was an IV there, she realized.

She closed her eyes and opened it again.
Maybe she was in the middle of a nightmare and if she closed her eyes and reopened them, she would wake up.

She had no such luck.

A stranger in a white uniform came to her, in her own bedroom.

"Hi sleepy-head..."she greeted. Her voice sweet and soothing and calm.

Chrisy looked up at her puzzled.

A smile broke from the tanned face. Waves of jet black hair ran down her back in acres, the upper half of it rested on top of her head in a neat half bun. She was young and pretty and she touched Chrisy with a soft gentle hand.

Horace came in just then and hurried to her bed side.

" Cara mia..." he greeted, kissing her gently on both cheeks. There was a hint of his Italian there, the lazy drag of his vowel and the way his tongue wrapped around his "r" occassionally.

Chrisy, still confused, looked up at him and spoke her first words since she woke.

"What happened? Why am I in bed in the middle of the day? Who's she?"

"You got sick. I was so worried, he kissed her forehead now, "but it's okay, you'll be okay. I got you a nurse. She will help you. As soon as you start eating up, you'll be fine,"

"What day is it?"

" Monday...don't worry, school isn't going anywhere...you just focus on getting better. I just want you to be better,"he said.

He smiled and touch the back of his hands to her cheek then he went to speak with the nurse he had hired.

" Maria?"he said questioningly.

"As long as she listens to me she will be fine, the blood work is back..." Maria sighed "...everything is low...the IV helps, but I'll gradually introduce her to some liquids, then some solids and a new diet and some supplements, a few days and she'll be as good as new."

"I'll be back princess..."He promised when he returned to her. He kissed her hair this time.

"Im Maria," The woman in white said to Chrisy when her father left. "...Your friend was here yesterday,"
