Kerry bubbled with joy. She was happy Reid had been so determined. How could she have forgotten that happiness was heaven?

The holidays went from bland to bliss. It wouldn't have to be just tolerable now, she thought to herself as she lay in her bed reminiscing on the way Reid had touchd her, and kissed her, and made her feel loved and wanted. She knew she'd love him from the moment she had laid eyes on him.

There was no need to tell Chrisy what had happened between them because Josh had walked in to see them on the floor in the aftermath of make up sex and no doubt he had spread the good news. After all, It had been his plan all along to get them alone in the same space.

Josh was unaware of what to do about his feelings. He had acknowledged his love for Chrisy but was he suppose to tell her? He had no idea. He'd probably do better just keeping it to himself for now. The problem is, now he didn't know if that feeling merited a different kind of action. In anycase, ever since they had been back together he had remained cautious.

Reid could not believe he had gotten down on his knees and used the "L" word. It was so out of his character, but that he had gotten a chance to fix things he had to make use of it. He'd never keep another secret from Kerry again.

Chrisy's thoughts  jumbled like the fruits in a blender. She found Josh to be so much closer to her, but much less intimate. His touches though seductive, were restricted to her shoulders or her her hair or her hands, and yes, he did kiss her, so tenderly, but on her forehead and her cheek and if by some miracle their lips actually made contact, it would be over before it began. She felt they were back to just being friends.

But why?

Maybe he had wanted to take her to his bed as she so often thought. Ever since she knew that Kerry and Reid's relationship had gone to the next level her mind couldn't stop thinking of it. She wasn't sure if he'd tell her if he wanted to or did those sort of things just happen? The fact is she was now self conscious everytime girls screamed his name at football games as they so often did, or batted their eyes at him or waved his way, or stared at him, with lust in their eyes as if promising what she wouldn't give. Funny enough, these girls had never bothered her before. She has never been the jealous type, but now, all of a sudden, she was.

As they entered Sharkys to sit in their favourite booth Josh heard his name being called melodically off of female lips. He looked in the direction of the voice to see a red head wave to him teasingly. He waved back reluctantly and  sat in his seat opposite to Chrisy.

"Who the hell was that?" he asked Chrisy in a hushed tone as they settled in their booth.

"You tell me Josh...you're the one sending dreamy eyes over to her."

"What? I wasn't doing that..."

"Whatever, you totally encourage it Josh, all the time..."

"How do I encourage it, what would you suggest I do to..."

"Forget it, I'm starving." she said abruptly cutting him of.

Josh sighed and ordered their food.

The holidays were almost over. It would be Janurary in two days.

Kerry's party had come and gone. Aunt T went out of her way as usual. She invited fame and royalty and made sure they saw a good time. It was her style.

Chrisy sat on the back porch having icecream with her father. It's a rare occasion they got their alone time. She had things on her mind. She would have preferred to talk to her mother but she couldn't. She'd just have to make do with what she had.
