It had been nine months since Harvey's death. Alex was still upset with William although he tried not to show it much- he kept himself busied with his own affairs. However he did make a friend outside of Jim's workplace- which was good. It was great for him to have a more or less 'normal' life. As for jim... he was still trying his best to empathize with everyone's emotions, although sometimes it did more damage than help. William was distant- when he was around he seemed fine enough. However for countless hours every day he would be gone by himself, off to who knows where. You took care of Alex for the most part, although occasionally Jim would try to help. ... a great example of jim trying his best to help, but accidentally doing more damage instead..

Currently, you were sitting on Jim's desk, silently reminiscing about William's tea- you could use a cup right about now...

Jim walked into the room, fixing his tie.

"Hello y/n~ how are you feeling today?" Jim asked upon entering. You shrugged and smiled, although the question about Williams whereabouts still bothered you.... it was on everyone's minds- they just simply hadn't asked, assuming he was just taking a while to regain himself and teach himself to cope with the loss of his dad..

"I'm feeling pretty good. .... so, jim, where do you think William is off to today?" You asked, shifting your weight and raising an eyebrow. You and Jim both had your own theories as to where he was... but nothing compared to the theory that he was secretly in touch with his mum and doing top secret missions with her. You smiled at the thought- nope. Not even William could lie about something like that.

"Not sure. I'm tempted to track his phone..." jim replied. You shook your head.

"I've tried. He turns it off-" You frowned, disappointed by the fact. You were both worried about him, although you tried to joke about it and pretend like you both knew he was probably alright..

"Hm, he's very thorough..." jim states, lost in thought. As you talked, William came into the room, calm and collected.

"Hey Jim, have you seen Alex?" William asked, as you watched the two's communication with each other. William was still careful around jim- he did work for him, after all. And jim could be a... pretty strict boss.

"I believe he's out with his friend Marcus right now." Jim responded calmly, and William nodded.

"... right. Good. I'm glad he has a friend." William replied, and you raised an eyebrow.

"..... so, William. ... what were you up to today-?" You asked questioningly. William shrugged it off, pulling out his phone.

"Not much. Just needed to clear my head."

".... for two hours-?" You asked, and he shot you a look.

"Something wrong with that?" He asked, and you shook your head quickly in response.

".... nope. ... not at all. Hey Jim, could Marcus possibly come spend a day here? I think Alex needs to be around us a bit more, just to be sure he isn't trying to avoid his problems completely-" you grinned, and jim sighed.

"...... I suppose. ..... especially since apparently Alex already told him pretty much everything about William and the workplace just to spite us... and neither have told anyone else, so he seems pretty trustworthy." Jim replied, seeming to be lost in thought as you spoke. You grinned and nodded- technically you hadn't really met Marcus yet, but Alex had told you a lot about him. He was two years older than Alex, at the age of 12. He sought Alex out, seeing he was sad, and managed to cheer him up a bit. Oh yes, and according to Alex, he's also quite the comedian. You looked forward to meeting him..

"Yay! I look forward to meeting him." You grinned happily; excited to make a new acquaintance- and friend, possibly.
