Jim's POV:
Jim sent out a text to William, just letting him know to meet them back at Jim's building. Judging by the fact this place was filled with hundreds of people that worked for Harvey and William was known to be Harvey's hated son, William likely didn't stay here to give his regards. In fact, Jim didn't necessarily want to go outside this room knowing that William was pissed and upset and likely trying to get it together again. ... in other words, it'd be a bloodbath from here to the nearest exit William went through.
"Y/n, lets get out of here.."
Jim said quietly, kneeling by you. He could tell you were still fuming- you couldn't seem to believe someone had manipulated you into killing someone. Honestly, jim couldn't either. So far only jim seemed able to do that- even Harvey couldn't. He tried to make you choose between which Harvey boy to kill, and you instead turned a knife on yourself. On top of this, you had many opportunities to kill Harvey, Candy, or anyone else who had come around. But you didn't. Marcus was clever, but this also made him dangerous. Sure, he was just a kid, but that didn't seem to matter. That 'kid' just plotted out the death of a mastermind that jim has been trying to murder for months.
And succeeded.
You slowly nodded, jim lifted Alex up in one arm before humming to himself. Good thing Alex was so small- he was very portable. Jim glanced at Marcus, who was staring down at Harvey blankly.
"..... I just killed Harambe-" Marcus said, his mouth dropping open. Jim smiled but quickly coughed it away so as to not upset you- Jim got what Marcus had meant. The monkey that was killed to protect the life of a child, and later apparently turned into a meme due to the bad reactions the event had received- well, the situation did apply well. Although Harvey was a LOT more psychotic than a monkey...
... either way, with Marcus's nickname habit, jim couldn't see him calling Harvey anything else from then on.
".... let's get out of here." Jim stated, pulling a device from his pocket and tossing it behind him. Marcus looked at jim confused.
"Detonator. Or, a small bomb, more accurately. If Harvey is as clever as he claims to be, there are bombs lining the building; much larger ones. One small explosive will set off a line of them. Now let's go, we have a minute to get out." Jim ordered, you and Marcus nodded simultaneously in response.
~~~
When they got back to Jim's building, jim brought Alex to the room he had been staying in- it had been so long since he was there last..
He set the kid down in bed when Marcus slipped in the room.
"Jim..." Marcus set a little vial of clear liquid beside him, jim glanced down at it- it must've been a concentrated, pure form of Alex's healing power.
"I took it from Harvey.. it'll kickstart Alex again, hopefully speed things up a bit..." Marcus explained, looking up at jim apologetically. Jim raised an eyebrow, unsure if he could even trust the kid at this point. This was what Harvey had been giving out to people to temporarily heal them- however since Alex's blood naturally made a more diluted form of it, maybe giving him some really would speed things up. .... regardless, jim didn't necessarily want to risk taking anything from Marcus. .... especially not if he got it from Harvey- if it wasn't tampered with by one, no doubt the other had.
"Thank you, Marcus. ... maybe just lay low the next couple weeks. We don't know if we can trust you after pulling a stunt like that." Jim stated. Marcus slowly nodded, before taking a deep breath.
"....... about that.... there's... one more thing I forgot to tell you...."
William's POV:
William was upset. .... of course. .... but he understood why you and Jim didn't tell him about his mum. ... truth is, he didn't know her well anyways. He didn't know either of his parents that well, he was, after all, taken by jim when he was only 10. After that, his mum pushed him away- treated him terrible in fear that jim had changed William to be like Harvey- and that he'd come take Alex from her.
..... no doubt Harvey was dead now, too. Another thing that William both was and was not upset about at the same time.
"HOW COULD YOU FORGET TO TELL US THAT???"
William heard Jim's voice from Alex's room, so he quickly went over and opened the door to make certain everything was alright. To his surprise, jim was hugging Marcus tight as hell.
"Um——?" William asked, unsure of what to even begin to say in this situation. Marcus smiled up at William, shaking his head.
"Don't worry about it- just- stuff." Marcus laughed, jim was smiling like heck. Okay. There must have been some genuinely life altering news right then. Jim coughed, getting himself together and standing up.
".... Marcus found a way to heal Alex faster, hopefully get him out of a coma sooner than expected." Jim hummed, picking up a small vial of clear liquid. William raised an eyebrow, slowly nodding. Thank god.... Alex was going to be back soon... he couldn't believe how much he missed the kid.
Glancing around, William noticed that you were nowhere to be seen.
"Where's y/n..?" He asked, drawing his eyebrows together. If something happened to her..........
"Don't worry, she's okay-!!" Marcus said quickly, evidently seeing Williams eyes begin to grow cold at the thought of losing someone else. Jim glanced over at William, as he emptied the contents of the vial into a small syringe.
"She's fine. Just off calming down. I'll check up on her in a moment, don't worry." Jim said as he inserted the needle into Alex's arm carefully. William nodded slowly, able to piece together bits and pieces of what must've happened in his absence, although in complete honesty he didn't care to know the rest.
After the liquid had entered Alex's bloodstream, William saw Alex take an audible deep breath. He smiled weakly- Alex was alive.
