You and Marcus escaped from the building quickly, getting as far away as possible before you finally slowed down and came to a stop.

"Alright... we should be safe here... Marcus, are you okay...? He didn't hurt you too bad, did he?" You asked, kneeling down to his level. He smiled and shook his head, giving you a thumbs up as he pretended to be A-ok.

"Alright.... okay. I'm so sorry you had to go through that... it won't happen again." You smiled reassuringly, hoping to god you were right. He shrugged and smiled, before looking up at you as you both continued to walk. You looked down at him, noting his subconscious limp. That was new..

"Hey, did you know Harvey has an 'other side'??? Kind of like Alex!! Also, good cop bad cop is 73929292 times more terrifying when one person has both roles and is completely unstable." Marcus grinned, half joking although you could tell part of him was still extremely shaken up by the experience.

"Hah... yeah, trust me, i know what you mean..." you replied, scratching your head with a sad smile... seeing Harvey switch back and forth between his two personalities was heartbreaking, but by the sounds of it even his 'good side' was starting to lose grip on trying to uphold good morals.

"Oh!!!! Also!! I don't know what you heard but I think Harvey is trying to kill Alex-forever. Oh and also he said something about a friend of William's—? He was thinking of torturing them to see if he could get information from either them, or William when he becomes desperate to get his friend back." Marcus stated, letting you in on all the helpful gossip he'd received from Harvey. He had a huge target on his back anyways, now Marcus knew a lot about what Harvey does and who he is and no doubt Harvey didn't want him freely running around town.

"Did you hear that, jim...?" You ask in the earpiece, knowing jim was likely still listening.

"A friend of Williams.... must be talking about candy, that's not good." Jim replies, and you nodded to yourself as you tried to think of how to continue the conversation with Marcus.

"Oh by the way Marcus, do you want me to walk you home-?" You ask, stopping in your tracks yet again at realizing he had an actual family that was probably worried sick about him. He shook his head immediately and smiled.

"I'll walk home alone if you want me to go." Marcus replied, and your eyebrows drew together.

"Well, I don't 'want' you to go home, but your mother must be worried sick about you.."

"Yay so I can stay!!!" Marcus grinned, ignoring the second half of your comment. You took note of the conversation, hoping jim was still listening to the oddness of it.

"Alright. Also, Marcus, please don't tell William or Alex about Harvey... there's a very complicated story behind that, and I especially don't want Alex to know because he-"

"Gets overprotective and doesn't know his dad is alive. Got it." Marcus grinned with a wink, you were surprised at how much Marcus already knew. Alex must have basically poured out his life to the kid. Which was good that he was opening up, but... the fact that it was to a 12 year old possibly psychotic blackmailer was a bit worrisome. Well, you wouldn't necessarily say Marcus was psychotic- he came off as more gutsy. Independent. Adventurous. ... and a little bit stupid at times.

Authors Note:

Ok guys this is kind of a filler chapter and I wrote it very quick because there's a MILLION people here and I can't concentrate lol! Hopefully it makes sense and doesn't seem like just a bunch of unfocused words slapped together which is basically what it is, haha. Anyways, thanks so much for reading all of you, I love you all so much and I hope you enjoy!!! 💜💜💜
