You pressed your hand against the closet door, getting ready to sneak out and break Marcus the heck out of here. Jim was currently working on turning out the cameras so it could buy you a bit of time, and distract Harvey from the fact you were with Marcus.
"Why wouldn't he just take Alex and try to kill him, rather than try to extract the information from Marcus....?" You whispered to jim confusedly as you waited.
"I suppose he must have wanted to know for sure before he did anything.. so he wouldn't risk setting Alex's other side off and have to deal with that as well... aaaand... done~ go get him and get the hell back here, my dear~" Jim hummed and you nodded, peeking out the closet once more to ensure you were alone, before quickly sneaking out and slipping into the room Marcus was in. You were surprised to see him silently crying, so you quickly went over to him.
"Marcus... Marcus it's okay, it's me..." you said in a quiet voice to which he jumped and quickly pretended to be fine, finding his smile once more.
"O-oh hey y/n-!! You came-!!" He grinned, although you could see the corners of his mouth twitch as he struggled to keep it together- he really was not okay.
"Yeah- I did- don't worry kiddo, I'm gonna get you out of here.." you say, knowing you didn't have the time to console him yet- you had to get him out of there. You quickly untied him from the chair, noticing dark bruises beginning to form around his wrists and a couple on his face as well... you get a terribly intrusive thought at imagining Harvey grabbing the kid by the wrists, holding him a lot tighter than needed, dragging him away from his friend. It was a horrible thought... Marcus was only two years older than Alex, and although you still didn't completely trust him, you knew he was just a boy... no matter ho tough he tried to act.
"Is- Alex okay??" Marcus asked, rubbing his wrists as he stood up, looking up at you as you nodded.
"Yes, he's fine. Jim is with him, and so is William. Now let's get out of here before anyone spots us..." you say quietly, knowing things would be hectic out there since Harvey knew the systems were down. And blending in was definitely not an option anymore with a kid by your side. In other words, basically.... run.
You two maneuvered through the halls, trying to find the nearest exit without running into anyone. Jim directed you where to go through the earpiece, and things were going well until you turned one corner just slightly too fast. Harvey, of course, just so happened to be the person you slammed into, knocking you down.
"damnit.." you breathed, quickly jumping up and stepping backwards, herding Marcus behind you.
"Well well well~." Harvey lamented, shaking his head as if to have expected more from you.
"Harvey.... we have to stop meeting each other like this." You growled, although a hint of familiarity struck within you- damn Harvey boys. Like father like son; apparently you had a thing with running directly into them. Like. Literally every time you see William, you slam directly into him in a hallway. What was with that.
Anyways, Jim had gone silent from the earpiece. You wondered if it broke from the impact...
".... I'm getting tired of your little games, y/n~ first you stab yourself when clearly, that was not supposed to be an option. Then you magically discover that Alex can magically bring you back to life.. then you create an unbreakable bond with the kid, causing him to try to kill me~ then you bloody interfere yet again, finding out I'm alive and sending a little 'rescue mission' to get Marcus back~" Harvey growled, and you smiled, still keeping Marcus behind you.
"Good to know I'm getting to you-"
"Won't make much difference in a second~" Harvey hummed, pulling his gun on you. However, you pulled yours milliseconds after. Harvey's eyebrow raised slightly as he noticed the change in your conscience.
"Oh~? Is this because of me~~~??" Harvey asked with a smile, gesturing his gun at yours. You glared at him hatefully, not budging in your stance.
"Technically jim ordered you to teach me how to shoot a gun, so don't flatter yourself too much. However, there isn't many people I'd be willing to use it on... so i guess you are special." You replied, Harvey simply smiled in response, making a small 'hm' noise as he took in the new you. Then, calculating the best outlet to the situation, he moved the gun centimetres to the side so it was aimed at Marcus's head. Technically, any shot at you from this closeness would go straight through you and into Marcus anyways, however you hadn't even thought of that until Harvey went out of his way to make it clear.
"I'm sorry my dear, but either way, you lose~~~ there's no getting out of this one." Harvey established, smiling darkly, his eyes filled with violence and hate. You paused for a moment, then shrugged.
"Except for one, teeny tiny fact you've forgotten." You began, relishing in the immediate change in Harvey's stance- he subconsciously straightened up, refocusing his gun to ensure you wouldn't move. A sign of nervousness and self reassurance that he had the upper hand. .... wrong.
"... someone hacked your systems." You grinned, and as if on cue, suddenly the music blared with music. The chorus of 'Beat It', by Michael Jackson, to be precise. It was so loud it caught you off guard even though you were expecting it- as for Harvey and Marcus, it completely disorientated them. You took the opportunity to grab Marcus and book it the rest of the way to the nearest the exit, despite your ears bleeding and bones rattling from the deafening music.
