You hopped off Jim's desk, going over to William.

"Anyways, i think we better go pick Alex up, he's been gone quite a bit. I'll go with William, that way Alex isn't too moody when he comes back here-" you grin up at William, who huffed and rolled his eyes. Jim nodded from behind you in approval.

"Alright. Go on, then." He stated calmly, as you hopped out of the room with William grudgingly trailed behind you. He seemed to know you'd be pestering him about where he was the whole way to Alex's- and ooooh boy was he ever right, ahah.

"..... so. ..... William." You smiled up at him, raising an eyebrow. He kept his expression pretty well blank, although you could sense he was holding back a bit of stress at being questioned.

"... what have you been up to, lately?" You asked, still looking at him as interrogation-y as possible. Your goal was to make him uncomfortable enough to spill- whatever he was doing, he needed to get it out. It wasn't healthy for him to keep his emotions in all the time. Even if he really was just leaving to clear his head... which, honestly, you kind of doubted... he needed to talk about it with someone. Grieving should never be something anyone has to face alone. William just shook his head, sighing frustratedly.

".... look, y/n, I can see you're not going to drop this anytime soon."

"Correct."

".... fine." William mumbled, as you both exited the building and made your way down the street.

".... alright. .... ah. ..... well. .... I've kind of. Been seeing someone." He stuttered, and you squealed in response.

"OooOOOoO what's his name???!!??"

"What!??! Y/n, I'm not— no, I'm not gay!! Jesus." William blushed immediately, facepalming. You blinked a few times, shocked.

"Wait- you're dating a girl??" You ask, confused. William shot you a glare. Well, even if he was dating a girl now, he could always be in denial of being gay and/or dating her to prove to you he wasn't gay.

".... yes. I am." William mumbled frustratedly. You smiled in response, although still felt rather flustered. .... maybe William was still figuring himself out.

"... right. ...... okay. But why have you been hiding it so much-??" You asked, confused. William huffed.

"Look, as one of Jim's workers I'm technically not supposed to date. Or... get attached to anyone, for that matter. However that kind of got all screwed up when you barged in, causing jim to fall for you apparently. I have no idea where the hell jim would stand on the matter- before you got here jim would probably shoot me for getting involved with anyone." William replied, and you slowly nodded. Made sense... jim was a lot more harsh back then... .... and, well... for the record he still was.

"... fair enough."

".... it's nothing big yet, anyways. I haven't really figured out where I am in this entire situation- it's just. Complicated." William defended, trying to backtrack since he was obviously extremely uncomfortable with the conversation.

"... just. ... don't tell anyone yet, okay? Especially not jim. .... or Alex." William stated, looking at you seriously. You nodded, putting one hand over your heart with a smile.

"I swear." You replied. .... hah. Nope. William is, and always would be that one gay best friend. You loved him for it.

".... anyways, we're here." William stated, looking up at a house. You heard laughing inside, and couldn't help but smile. So, you went up and knocked on the door. After a few seconds you heard running/falling/laughing coming towards 5e door, before Alex answered with a grin.

"Oh!! Y/n!" Alex said happily, before another kid pushed past Alex to see who it was. He froze, then laughed.

"Oh- hello, Alex told me all about you!" Marcus grinned, and you smiled back. Marcus was taller than Alex, especially since Alex was already quite small for his age. Marcus had short brown curly hair covered by a hat, and freckles that lined his face.

"Oh hello, you just be Marcus! I'm y/n and this is William, Alex's brother-" you greeted, motioning to William who was looking bored behind you. Marcus laughed, shaking his head.

".... Alex and him look very different-" he smiled, Alex smiled back in response.

"... thank god-" they both laughed at that. You shook your head, smiling at Alex's joke. One thing was for sure- Alex definitely did seem happier now that he had a friend.

".. anyways Marcus, it's time for Alex to come home." You said, hating to break the bad news to them. Alex complained slightly but Marcus just grinned and attacked Alex's head with a noogie.

"Alrighty sounds good- oi, check your phone when you get home Alex, I'm sending you 73929292 memes as of right now-" Marcus snorted, and Alex laughed, shaking his head and stepping out the door.

"Fineeee. Anyways, I'll talk to you later Marcus!" Alex said happily as Marcus grinned in response, closing the door. You smiled down at Alex, taking his hand.

"Did you have fun-?" You asked, earning a quick nod and smile from Alex.

"Yeah- thanks for letting me go." Alex responded gratefully, you couldn't help but appreciate how Alex took the time to thank you for even the smallest things.

"No problem, kid. Anyways, let's get you home! Jim says maybe soon we can have Marcus over. It has been 8 and a half months you two have been friends, and you both seem really close, so that's good." You commented- it did strike you odd that Marcus knew so much about Jim's building, but didn't freak out and back out of his friendship with Alex. That kid was either very loyal, or something was up. You'd keep an eye on him anyways, he seemed nice enough.
