When you got back to Jim's building, William immediately pulled out his phone and went off on his own again. Likely texting his new gal- so weird. You would... NOT be able to get used to this, ahah.
"Hey Alex, it sounds like your phone is getting a lot of notifications— you should probably get that-" you laughed, asked immediately grinned in response.
"Yeah, it's Marcus- talk to you later y/n!" Alex replied as he hopped away. You watched him go to his room, thinking deeply about the entire situation... you were still weary of Marcus. He was really sweet, but... well, as time went on you'd figure out where he was at. Maybe it was all in your head- you had been a bit paranoid since Harvey... he seemed so innocent, so genuine. .... everyone has their own darknesses, but... you were terrified of them all.
You went into Jim's office, finding him on his phone as usual when he's alone. You raised an eyebrow questioningly at seeing his expression- he seemed blank as always, but not quite as calm and relaxed.
"What's wrong, James-?" You asked, and he simply shook his head.
"... I'll take care of it, don't worry~" he hummed. You shot him a slight glare, crossing your arms.
".... jim. ....no more secrets. Please." You said, staring at him intently. Jim looked at you for a few moments before shaking his head, standing up. You knew jim would never listen to you unless you made yourself clear that you weren't going to let it go, or take no for an answer. It took practice on your part, but you were striving to make it a goal for yourself, in order to make sure jim, and everyone else was safe.
"... alright then. I just received a text from Williams mother, she says she has received a lot of threats lately and thinks that I'm the one doing it."
"..... and are you—?" You asked jim, raiding an eyebrow. Jim chuckled, shaking his head once again.
"No, my dear, not this time~. .... but I do have a theory. .... not a theory. Y/n, Harvey's alive."
"..............." your eyes were wide, you stared at him silently. What. ...... w h a t. Jim seemed to pick up on your immediate flood of missed emotions- fear, shock, worry, terror, happiness, and overall confusion.
"..... what. .... no. How do you know that? Whatever happened, I'm sure there's some explanation... maybe it's just some random person threatening the boys' mom. ... or someone framing to be Harvey....?" You asked, drawing your eyebrows together. Jim shook his head in response.
".... I got some of my guys to take care of the body, so we never technically saw him past the 'just dead' point. I believe he may have either collected some of Alex's blood, or somehow got some on him. .... Harvey also stated that he knew a few of my workers that were very willing to betray me and already have on a few occasions, so he could have easily convinced the men I sent to not tell me he was alive. I received a text via Harvey's phone the other day, asking if I missed him, and these threats piling up on top of Williams mother all conclude to one thing. Harvey is alive. There is no doubt about it." Jim replied. You stared at him blankly a moment before nodding slowly.
"...... alright. ..... but then.... why hasn't he come back—-?"
"Well hes evidently found out his dead wife is alive, my guess is he has more important things to attend to..." him replied, raising an eyebrow. You nodded again, as it all worked out in your mind. Made sense.... but.... what were you going to tell the boys... as if reading your mind, jim spoke once more.
".... I suggest we don't tell Alex or William yet. If something happens between Harvey and their mom.... ... well... we don't want to get their hopes up." Jim stated, and you felt bad, but you agreed. Jim was afraid that Harvey would snap and end up killing or hurting Williams mom.... you had to figure out how to protect her before you told the boys anything.
