William's POV:
William strolled down the hall, recollecting himself from the former... event. That was... .... interesting.
.... ahah.
..... no. Not gay. No homo.
Running his hands through his hair, he tried to set his mind back on the more important stuff. Ty wasn't really dead, William was broken up with candy, you had no idea what was going on, Alex was half dead, and Jim... well... he likely had everything completely orchestrated from behind the scenes. Just then, Williams phone buzzed from his pocket. .... then again. .... and again. Jesus.
Pulling his phone out to check the texts, William's eyes darkened at realizing it was candy.
'I miss you~'
'Don't ignore me Will, I know you miss me too~'
'You're not seeing someone else, are you?!!'
'It's the girl from the cafe, isn't it?!? I've seen you look at her!!!'
'How could you do this to me!!! I love you!!!!'
William rolled his eyes, blocking the number. What the hell was he thinking dating her. She's bloody bonkers. Never mind candy though, now he was worried about you. He remembered how angry you were by Ty's 'death'- he didn't know how he would keep that from you. Nevertheless, he should talk to you... he hasn't had a calm, normal conversation with you in forever, it seemed. Maybe he'd make you some tea later... that seemed to help you feel happier, for some reason.
His phone buzzed from his pocket once again, so he checked the text. From an unknown number. Immediately he stopped in his tracks, his eyes widening. Jesus..
There was a picture of a girl, laying on the floor covered in blood. William very vaguely recognized her as one of the girls who worked in a cafe William had been to... underneath was another text.
'Don't shut me out William, you know you love me still!! We belong together~ I'll show you!!'
William ran a hand through his hair slowly, lost in thought. Quickly, he texted you, realizing you were outside Jim's building. God damnit.
'Y/n where are you?? Are you and Jim safe??'
Your POV:
You checked your phone when it went off, raising an eyebrow slightly. It was from William, he seemed quite panicked. Likely separation anxiety since.. well, since he just lost Ty.
'We're fine William, don't worry. Jim and I are just heading back.' You responded, before leaning forward in your seat to look jim in the eyes.
"..... so. .... what should we tell William?" You ask Jim, looking at him seriously. He simply stretched out, resting his hands behind his head as he leaned back in his seat.
"Nothing. William knows we're getting clues from an anonymous source, yet he hasn't bothered questioning from where. In other words, he doesn't want to know. He tends to be very direct- he knows Harvey is alive, and Alex is taken. If I let him, he'd waltz right in there, shoot Harvey in the head and take Alex back again." Jim replied, to which you raised an eyebrow yet again.
".... and why exactly can't he do that, again?"
"My dear~ it didn't seem to work last time, what makes you think it would work now. Point is, if we told him his mom was alive he'd no doubt go looking for her without hesitation. Acting out of initial instinct rather than reason is stupid and dangerous. Right now we are in a superior position to Harvey, we don't want to lose that by having Willy boy act out again~ in conclusion, we tell him nothing."
"... fine." You responded in a slightly cold manner. You hated keeping secrets. Jim leaned forward in his seat, clasping his hands together on the table in font of him as he stared at you seriously.
"..... I hope you realize my dear, that means no slip ups. Unlike the 'harvey' incident." Jim warned in a somewhat threatening tone. You felt your face flush, knowing exactly what jim was talking about. You didn't realize he was holding it against you that you accidentally told William about Harvey's survival. ...
"..... right. Of course, Jim." You replied, your eyes filled with slight hurt. You tried to get over it, but jim was definitely hiding something from you. When he began treating you poorly like this, you knew he was lying..
Upon hearing you call him 'Jim' rather than 'James', he quickly straightened up and slowly nodded, realizing he was being harsh on you. You simply pulled out your phone, texting William again to ignore the current one-sided quarrel happening between you and Jim.
'William, can we have tea later? Like the good ol days.. if you're up for it of course. Don't push yourself.'
'Of course y/n, I'm always up for tea.'
You smiled softly at the response, feeling yourself relax slightly from your former tenseness. It would be so nice to just sit down with William and talk...maybe try to figure out what jim was hiding.
