Marcus's POV:

Marcus sat quietly, alone in the room with Alex. Now that Alex was asleep, his eyes went teary. He wanted to push it back, to pretend to be okay, to find the positive outlook on it all... but he couldn't. He knew he did the right thing, and he knew coming into this it would be hard to do... but it hurt so much.

"I'm so sorry, Alex.... when you find out what I did you'll never forgive me.... a-and then it's time for me to go.... I'm so sorry..." he whispered, his voice shaking as his trembling hands wiped away tears. He had to help Harvey capture his best friend— he fed Harvey information on how to kill Alex... he basically is the one who gave Harvey every single idea he had, including the idea to put Alex in a coma and take his blood— it was better than torturing the kid, but it still wasn't okay... he also gave Harvey the idea to talk to Ty about how to change the healing power in Alex's blood into something less recognizable than the red liquid— a lot of what Harvey did was all manipulated by Marcus. He knew if he didn't get involved, things would have been so, so much worse. In fact, they all would have ended up dead... or tortured for the rest of their lives. He had no choice, he did what he had to do...

... but that doesn't make him any less so the true criminal behind the mastermind.

Tears ran down his face freely, the door clicked open and Marcus quickly sucked it up and gathered it together as fast as possible so he could regain his optimistic smile.

"Marcus.." Jim said in a calm, quiet voice- surprisingly, hearing his voice right now only seemed to make him more emotional.

"I-I'm s-so sorry I just—" Marcus stuttered, trying to get ahold of himself, knowing jim didn't necessarily approve of 'emotions'.

"Marcus, you're struggling to cope with all these secrets. Let's go tell y/n... you can't handle having someone upset with you while you're dealing with this." Jim stated calmly, to which Marcus slowly nodded.

"I... I know. I just.... I'm scared she'll hate me more...."

"Marcus!! She doesn't hate you, she's just in shock. You know you did what was right, and I know you did what was right. If she doesn't understand, you know very well that eventually, she will." Jim said, reasoning with the kid. Marcus nodded again, swallowing.

"Alright... lets go. .... but you're telling her, not me!!!" Marcus smiled, feeling a bit better- more or less back to his old self again. Jim smiled and nodded, patting the kid reassuringly on the shoulder, glancing once more at the sleeping Alex before leading Marcus out of the room.

As they made their way down the hall, Marcus took a deep breath- he had no idea what your reaction would be to the news. He got lucky with jim- in fact, he was shocked with how well he had handled it.

They entered Jim's office, where you were seated criss cross on Jim's desk, playing something on your phone.

"Y/n, there's something we have to tell you." Jim said calmly, hands in his pockets. You glanced over, your gaze shifting from Marcus up to jim. You adjusted your position, turning to face them, dangling your legs off the side of the desk.

"I- okay...? Go for it?" You asked, confusedly. Jim looked down at Marcus, then back up at you.

"I'm sure you've noticed Marcus is... different. ... than most people. A lot like us, actually, he fits in here very well." Jim stated, and you raised an eyebrow slowly. Jim sighed, shaking his head.

"Alright. Well, I'm just going to say it. Y/n, Marcus is our son."
