You sat on Jim's desk as he scrolled through his phone, hopefully doing something of importance rather than playing candy crush again. The severity of the situation wasnt seeming to bother him, which was both bad and good- it meant he had a plan. .... probably. That, or he and was just glad harvey was going after something other than them so he didn't care any more. But, after about ten minutes, you stood and began pacing. Jim glanced up, examining your increasingly uptight and stressed mannerisms.
"I think I might have found something~" Jim hummed finally, standing up. You looked over at him, a glimmer of hope sparkling in your eyes. He smiled, going over to you.
"Traced the signal of one of my former workers who betrayed me to work with Harvey. I don't know if he's with Harvey right now, but wherever he is I'm sure he knows how to find him. ... rookie mistake, glad he doesn't work for me anymore." Jim hummed and smiled, looking over at you. You were relieved- at least you had somewhat of a lead on where to find Harvey.
"Alright.. shall we go then??" You ask, not wanting to waste a second. Jim shook his head in response, to your surprise.
"Y/n I have to stay here. Alex isn't safe alone here, and god knows William isn't in a right frame of mind to take care of him. Besides, Candace is here too and we all know there's something off with her~ you'll have to go alone. But don't worry, I'll talk you through it all." Jim hummed, waltzing over to you and placing a small device in your hand.
"Clips behind the ear. I'll be able to hear and talk to you, no one else will have a clue as long as you're discreet~." He stated, and you slowly nodded. You didn't mind helping Jim.... as long as you didn't have to kill anyone.
"And y/n..." Jim placed a gun in your hand as well, looking at you seriously. You drew your eyebrows together, shivering at the touch of the cool, smooth metal. You remembered, however, what Harvey said to you a long time ago... when he was training you to use the weapon. .... when everything was still okay.
'Let's put it this way. Jim has disappeared. You go to find him, and see him unconscious on the ground nearby. A man stands over him, aiming a gun at Jim's head. Option 1: stand there watching in horror as jim gets shot in the head. Option 2: your immediate reflex is to pull your gun out and shoot him in the arm, hand, or shoulder, forcing him to drop his weapon, therefore saving Jim's life. Which do you choose?'
He was right, of course... and now this little life advice Harvey had given you would be used against him. The memory broke your heart- you wished that it didn't have to be this way... that harvey still had enough good left in him to be helped.
".. alright. I'm ready to go." You say, slipping the gun in your waistband and nodding at jim. Jim smiled, looking pleased with your acceptance of what the situation had to be.
"Good. I'm sending you the location you need to go to. Keep in touch." He hummed, pulling out his phone to fulfill his words. You nodded, before stepping outside the door, ready to save lives. ...... hopefully.
