William's POV:

It was getting late, however William stayed with you as you talked matters over. He could tell you were scared for Alex's well-being... he was too. And they were mutually pissed at jim, although you were probably more so for once. William didn't have much a reason to be mad- yes, he was mad Alex was taken, ty was almost murdered, his dad hated him and his ex was trying to murder anyone who goes near him. .... but, regardless... he had no reason to really be mad at jim anymore. After all, he did just save ty... even though it meant at one point or another jim had stolen Alex's blood.

Before he knew it, both of you were leaning against the wall, your head resting on his shoulder. It was nice to have friends— especially ones that he was probably completely certain wouldn't try to murder him or people he cared about.

"... William, you should get a cat."

".... what-??"

"Mm you seem like a cat person..."

William blushed immediately, wondering how his secret got out- he loved cats and would die for them. Gladly. ... hence Ty would not let him get one, ahah.

"I-I- no, I'd really rather not I don't really like animals their fur gets everywhere and it's impossible to get off and besides even if I wanted one Alex is allergic so that wouldn't end well and really I-...... you're asleep." William observed, noticing your breathing steady and your body relax against him. He sighed, leaning his head back against the wall. He felt bad for lying to you— no, not about the cat. About Ty. Because of all this, William could practically see the hatred and anger for Harvey and Candy radiating off you- he was worried you might do something you'd regret.

... hence he came up with this little plan to keep you occupied. Mess with Harvey a bit, hopefully stay out of Jim's way, try to get some of your anger out- or at least distract you from it. William knew that jim had once manipulated you into- well, basically attempting to murder him. That wasn't you. At all. You had definitely changed a lot since you first arrived. You refused to even hold a gun or knife to begin with... now you had jim on one side, and harvey on the other- both seeming determined to turn you into a murderer.

William lightly kissed the top of your head- not in a weird way, he didn't think. More of a; 'i respect you and our friendship and have no idea how to express it when you're awake' sort of thing. Besides, you were with jim and in all honesty, William wasn't looking to date right now. And he DEFINITELY didn't want anymore crazy exes. Also ew. You were not 'girlfriend material' in his eyes.

William adjusted his position and lifted you up as he stood, climbing out of the blanket fort and setting you in your bed. He carefully pulled the blankets over you before silently exiting the room.

Reality suddenly hit him like a rock, causing him to stop in his tracks. His dad was gone, and his mom was dead... Alex was the only family he had left. But you.... you, jim, Ty...... you all seemed like family to him more than anything. ... and for some reason that hurt like bloody hell. ... felt nice to not be alone, however the grief that his parents were gone hit hard again. Regardless, he took a deep breath and continued on his way... he'd be fine. It was all fine.

Going back to his room, he found Ty sitting with Marcus on the floor, both of them seeming exhausted from what looked like an intense game of monopoly. Marcus was half asleep, and Ty smiled up at William in greeting, however seemed to pause at seeing his expression.

"Hey... are you alright?" Ty asked, standing up. William nodded and fixed his tie, to which Ty drew his eyebrows together.

".... Marcus, do you want to go find jim a moment? I'm pretty sure he's probably still awake, he doesn't seem like the type to sleep much. Ask him for me how long I'm going to have to stay hidden here, okay?" Ty smiled over at the tired Marcus, who just grinned back understandingly before yawning and getting up. As he left the room, Ty looked at William again worriedly. William didn't bother lying to Ty and try to hide his expression as to how he was really feeling. He was too... bothered to care about that right now. What the hell was he going to do about candy.... William had already blocked three different numbers she'd texted him from, and eventually turned off his phone so he wouldn't receive them. He was an absolute basket case.

"William.. I'm sorry..." Ty said, seeming to understand the pressure William was facing. William tensed as Ty wrapped his arms around him in a hug, before simply giving in and for once hugging back. It was rare William would let himself be hugged in the first place, nevermind actually hug someone back.. he was really upset.

"Alex is going to be alright.." Ty whispered, and William swallowed in response, not replying. Simply just closing his eyes and burying his face in Ty's shoulder. He couldn't even begin to thank Ty for being there for him right now.
