You picked up the note on the brick, when you heard footsteps approach.

Y/n??!" Jim burst through the bedroom door, followed by William who was standing protectively in front of the two young boys in case of danger. You stuffed the note in your pocket quickly, hoping to god none of them noticed (although highly doubting that, considering you were face to face with James moriarty, the most observant criminal mastermind of all time.)

"I'm okay, it's alright!" You said quickly, holding your hands up to prove to jim you weren't hurt and there was no need to lose his temper. However, he seemed pissed as hell.

"What happened. Did you see who did this." Jim asked furiously, his eyes dark with hatred at the thought that someone would hurt you. Out of every window in the building, no doubt jim had concluded it was no accident that someone shattered yours.

"No, I checked but I couldn't see anyone- did you get anyone on camera??" You asked, although if that was the case jim wouldn't be here asking you..

"No, the systems blacked out for a second. I haven't had anyone able to hack my systems since...." Jim faded out, looking at you before simply forcing himself to relax once more, smile, and waltz out of the room. You shot a glance to William, before following jim out. You knew exactly what he was thinking- Harvey. He had to have something to do with it, considering the fact you and Jim knew he was alive. William, however, rightly seemed confused as hell.

"Y/n, what's going on? Do you know what he's talking about?" William asked, skidding up along side you as you hurriedly followed jim down the corridor.

"Has anyone ever known what jim is talking about??" You joked, despite the unfortunate circumstances. William shrugged, getting your point, but then resumed being concerned about your wellbeing.

".. are you alright though? You're bleeding a little, nothing too bad.. but you didn't get hurt?? You seem a little shaken up, maybe you should sit down-"

"I'm fine, William, don't worry about me! I'm pretty much used to people trying to kill me at this point." You nudged him with a grin, reminding him of the time even he had tried to kill her- through Jim's orders, of course. Oh, how things had changed since then..

Alex ran up beside you, followed by Marcus, the same concern as William's written all over their faces.

"Y/n what happened, is someone trying to hurt you—?" Alex asked, gripping your hand tightly. You squeezed it reassuringly, not wanting him to freak out and his 'other side' come out. He'd been doing well lately, considering the 'loss' of his dad.

"I'll be fine, Alex. I'm a big girl, I can take care of myself. Plus, I have jim and William taking care of me!" You grinned down at the young boy, who smiled up at you uncertainly in response. You could tell that he was concerned about potentially losing you as well. Well, you werent gonna let that happen anytime soon anyways, so you'd do your best to reassure him in the meantime. Marcus was quiet from behind you, so you peeked over at him. As soon as you did, he broke out of his thoughts and smiled up at you happily. So, you smiled back. Your trust in the kid was still wavering, you needed to know more information on him before you could decide how you thought of him.

You all entered into Jim's office, where jim was scanning his computer systems to try to track the signal.

"As I thought.. expertly done. Not a sign." He said, before hurriedly fixing his tie and going to push past you all to leave again, however William stopped him. You immediately noticed the intense hateful glare the two shared with each other.

"Jim. What is going on." William growled, as jim ripped his arm away.

"Watch your tone, Willy boy~" jim warned in a high pitched, yet threatening tone. William, however, did not back down. Jim did not break eye contact as he pushed past the younger boys, leaving the room once more. You shot a worried look at William, it wasn't like him to lash out and not back out of it when it came to disputes with jim. He looked at you darkly in return, you read his cold, hateful expression easily- he was done with the constant danger, and losing people he loved. You broke his gaze, because it hurt. It made you think about all the people he had lost, how much it hurt pained him and how long he's had to hold all of that emotion in. He didn't seem to even know how to properly show pain besides numbness and hatred anymore. Just as he was starting to get better, accept his dad, let someone in to his life for once, that was ripped away from him.

However, he hadn't completely shut down- he still was friends with you, and he had candace now, so that was good... except his ever growing resentment towards jim worried you. .... that could blow up in all your faces with ease.
