You and Jim explored the building until you came across one that held Alex, who was sitting in the corner of his room on his phone, looking worried as hell. You glanced over at jim who immediately seemed to tense up, you hadn't noticed why yet until you followed his gaze. On Alex's shirt there was small patches of dried blood. The room seemed to be disorderly, as if some sort of commotion had gone down.

"Alex, are you alright??" you asked, quickly going up to the kid. Jim kept his business, instead continuing to inspect the room. Alex nodded and invited himself into your arms, needing the physical comfort of a motherly figure.

"What happened....?" You asked, holding him close, looking up at jim who was once again stone faced. Alex simply shook his head, not ready to talk so jim spoke up.

"Someone was here. Knocked Alex out, took Marcus." He stated matter of factly, you quickly stood up, still holding Alex in your arms.

"Marcus???"

"... Marcus." Jim replied with a nod, you knew you were both thinking the same thing. Either this was meant to be a distraction to get them away from Alex, which wouldn't make sense because they already WERE away from Alex and if they did want him they would have just taken him..... or Harvey's wife was wrong. Harvey was after Marcus- which made sense.... why mess with one small, psychotic family when you have the keys to ruling over basically every thing and every one- who knew what Marcus had on his phone. With Harvey's mind, he could get into it in no time...

"We have to find him." You said, jim nodded in agreement- you could tell that he didn't care less about the kid. But he did know that Harvey was a problem, and you were all very done with his games. People were getting hurt. And not in a good way. .... again, jim likely didn't care about that bit. But this was his territory, he wouldn't let someone win the game no matter how badly he hated it.

"Alex baby, stay here okay? James will put the building on lockdown and monitor things while we're gone... try to stay with William if you can, and keep in touch with us. Everything is going to be okay.." you said, setting the boy down and kneeling down to lightly press a kiss to his forehead. He nodded slightly in response before sitting quietly in the corner again- you could tell he was absolutely terrified of you leaving. Especially when Marcus was already taken from him, and now your life was in danger too. But he was a bit calmer at hearing your reassurances, which was good. Great, actually. You needed Alex to keep calm. If he lost it, this entire scenario would completely fly off the handle.

Giving Alex one more comforting smile, you and Jim headed out of the room to Jim's office where he could try to track Marcus's phone. If it was as secure as he claimed, maybe they'd still be able to pick up a signal if nothing else... maybe they could do something.... just... something.

"She was wrong... James, what are we going to do. She was wrong, we can't trust any more directions she gives us... we don't have the time to stop and figure this all out and everything is falling apart; James what are we going to do..??" You could feel yourself beginning to panic, so jim came to a stop just outside his office, forcing you to stop as well.

"Y/n, calm down~ I'm London's greatest consulting criminal, or as some might claim the most dangerous man in the world. Harvey is clever but he doesn't have the resources~ we can and will find him, we'll get Marcus back, Alex will not lose it, and maybe William will die somewhere along the way but for now we can only hope. But you need to calm down now~ you get nowhere by stressing." Jim hummed in a smooth, unbothered voice. You couldn't help but smile slightly at his comment on William- you loved him like a friend, but he was definitely a handful at times. Just... unhealthily emotional. You could recall someone mentioning he had bipolar disorder at some point- which made sense, of course. William was taught by jim to keep his emotions in, but this whole thing with his dad dying seems to have emotionally destroyed him. He's doing stupid and careless things just because he's so extremely agitated and upset.

"I know... I'm sorry, I'm okay. Let's just.. try to find Marcus." You replied, offering jim a weak smile to prove that you had regained control over yourself. Which, of course, you hadn't really— you were still terrified that Harvey was getting too strong, too powerful.... but then again, you weren't giving jim quite enough credit as he deserved. Even though he showed compassion towards you, he still could be just as ruthless as Harvey... you didn't like it, but in this case you couldn't deny that it might actually help...
