A:N HIGHLY SUGGEST YOU LISTEN TO THE SONG!!

-Flash Back-

Gardina

Age: 9 years old

"Dad, why do people die?" A young girl with wild curly brown hair asked laying on her bed grieving over the death of her pet snail she had found 2 days prior in the front yard while she was coloring.

"That's a good question Dina, but why are you asking that all of a sudden?" Her father asked pulling up a chair to sit by his daughters bed side.

"Because My Snail died, and..Mama said you were leaving us because your sick, dad are you gonna die?" The young girl asked her voice full of worry and sadness.

The older man sighed, running his hand through his hair that was beginning to turn grey from all the recent stress in his life, but no matter how rough things got he always tried to be brave for his little girl who he loved more than anything.

"Well..I am sick, and i'm sick because I did some things mama didn't want me to do..so I believe the best way to keep your mama happy is to go away for a while." The man softly explained looking at his daughters watery eyes and quivering lips.

"Mama would be happy without you?" The young girl asked completely confused that her mama would be happier without dad, when they always seemed so happy together.

This did not make sense to her, nor should it at her young age.

"Dina..sometimes in life..your gonna have to say some hard goodbyes, sometimes they'll feel right and sometimes they won't..but at the end of the day.." He said trailing off.

He turned to face a picture on his daughter dresser of the 3 of them in the family portrait that he remembered took them forever to take because Gardina wanted to be a busy body and run all around the photographers shop.

He smiled.

"At the end of the day?" His daughter asked him impatiently.

"At the end of the day, We're only taking turns holding this world.." He finished.

"Why?" She said sadly. "I still don't understand why people die!" She said sadly.

"I don't know Dina...It's how it's always been.." He smiled sadly at the girl.

The young girl frowned, "It's stupid." She pouted.

Her fathered sighed, patting the girl on her curly brown lock's that they could never seem to tame with a brush. "When you're older you will understand." He said.

-Present time-

2 hours after Marshall and Gardina's kidnapping

"Oh my God don't do this to me please!" Gardina pleaded holding the man in her lap as his blue eyes stared back up at hers in fear.

She couldn't believe he was dying right in front of her as she struggled to hold back her tears.

And really who's fault was it, was it hers? Was it there's? Deep down she knew the answer but she was to ashamed to admit it. She never meant for any of this to happen, all she wanted was some normalcy in her life, not this..anything but this.

Where was the frickin ambulance and police!?

"C'mon your gonna be alright! You have to be!" She pleaded, watching as he began to spew up some blood right in front of her.

- Flash Back-

Young Dina watched as her dad continued to stare out the window from her bed side and she couldn't help but wonder what he was thinking.

"You know you can always trust me right hun?" Her dad suddenly said.

Gardina nodded, "Yes." She said.

"Good." He smiled at the girl warmly.

"Dad..you really think i'll understand what your talking about when i'm older?" She asked thoughtfully.

Her dad looked at her in silence and seemed to zone out for a few seconds because he wasn't answering her question at all.

"Ye-" He paused mid sentence looking at his daughters curious yet confused face that held so many questions to answers she didn't understand.

"Then again maybe you won't." He said suddenly and softly looking at his daughters face grow more bemused as he spoke.

"But you said-"

"I should've said..When you're older you might understand." He corrected. "Because the truth is Dina, I'm still learning myself." He smiled admittingly.

"But dad..you're old, what else is there for you to learn?" She asked him confusingly beginning to get a head ache from all this confusing talk.

He gave a short laugh and smiled, "You'd be surprised."

- Present Time-

She couldn't understand for the life of her why this was happening, and why she couldn't do anything but cry as she was literally watching the life leave from him.

"Please don't die, we have a kid together!" She sobbed finally hearing the sounds of an ambulance near by.

"Look i'll do rehab again, i'll get sober, be a better mom to our kid, and I won't always annoy you and ask you for favors and stuff just please!" She sobbed her breathing livid as she saw his eyes closing ever so slowly.

"Please, don't die your my best friend and I love you." She cried.

"I love you and i'm so sorry I did this to you." She choked shaking her head as she finally heard the ambulance pull up next to her.

"Ms. we're gonna need you to move." An EMT said pulling me away from him.

"NO! I can't leave him like this! NO!" She yelled trying to grab onto him but they were dragging her further and further away from him.

"NOO!" She screamed as she watched herself drift further and further away from him until he was completely out of her sight.
