"Agents down." May informed us as she let out a sigh. "Lucy Bauer was here, but she's long gone."
May was down at the lab where the original experiment that Lucy and her team did was done while the rest of us were on the Zephyr, seeing the lab through May's glasses.
"Wait. Hold...uh, Agent May, can you go back and give me another look at where the cables connect to the chamber?" Leo asked.
"Sure." May replied before moving back.
"Yeah, okay, that's ...that's ...that's definitely different from before. Uh, there's a number of pieces missing." Leo explained. "She must have taken them."
"She already has the book, the power cells...my guess is she's trying to replicate the experiment and reverse the process." Phil commented.
"Un-ghost herself." I added.
"So why did she take Eli Morrow?" May questioned.
"He's part of her original dream team. Maybe she needs him to do something she can't." Phil suggested.
"What? Show her face without scaring children?" May retorted.
"The Momentum facilities are controlled by us now, so she needs a new place to work."
"We need to find her before someone else gets hurt." Phil urged.
It wasn't long until trouble began to stir, Davis had informed us of a quinjet approaching towards us followed by Jeffrey's voice over to comms." Agent Coulson, this is Director Jeffrey Mace. You're harboring two fugitives ...the Inhuman known as Quake and an enhanced individual who can control fire. I'm here to take them into custody. Prepare to be boarded."
Phil and I made our way to the launching bay to greet Jeffrey while Mack and the others worked on hiding Daisy, Robbie, and Robbie's brother, who Daisy brought in case Lucy tried to harm him. As soon as their ship opened, Jeffrey came out along with Burrows and a team of agents. He wore a stern look as he approached us. This can't be good...I tried to remain calm as they approached us.
"Jeff." Phil greeted.
"Phil." Jeffrey replied before glancing over at me, giving me a brief smile. "Storm."
"Jeffrey." I said with a nod.
"As a former director, I have a better sense than most at how precious your time is ...how important it is to prioritize the critical from the trivial. Which makes me wonder why you'd wasted half a day flying here on a wild goose chase." Phil explained.
"Oh, it's not a wild goose chase if there are geese. Do you deny they're on board?" Jeffrey asked.
"Geese?" I repeated.
"I have zero geese. We are goose-free." Phil said, trying to throw them off.
He looked at Phil, giving him a good long stare as if he was trying to find something that gave him away. Finally he spoke. "Find them."
And with that his team of agents took off, searching all over the Zephyr. As Jeffrey and Burrows wandered around, Phil and I trailed behind him, anxious that he'd find them.
"You know what a hero is?" Jeffrey questioned.
Phil sighed. "You really gonna do this?"
"Everybody loves Han Solo...rebel, rule-breaker, a lone wolf ... but to my old-fashioned sensibilities, he's not a hero." Jeffrey objected. "He's just a guy who always puts himself first."
"...Hey, you guys do know I'm friends with Han, right?" I reminded them.
Phil gave me a glare that said "not now." I reluctantly shut my mouth as I clenched my fists, controlling my anger for the sake of not screwing this up.
