After we captured Shockley, the Russians left after taking Jeffrey. Now we spent our days, trying to search for Jeffrey. Meanwhile, Leo created a virtual reality simulation called the Framework, which currently Phil and Daisy were in. Jemma, Leo, Mack, Kina and I were in the lab, waiting for Daisy and Phil to get out of the Framework. I had tried it on myself, and it was nothing like the training simulations back home. I had to say it rivaled the mind evaporators back home. Once they returned, Leo anxiously waited for their comments. "Well?"
"Unbelievable. It's like the real thing. I could even smell the sweat." Phil commented as Leo took off the equipment from Phil's head. "But I felt strangely cold, though."
"Well, I tried to make the simulation as real as possible, and since you always leave the air-con on in the base, I exaggerated it. Kind of like a silent protest." Leo explained, throwing it at Mack.
Mack merely chuckled. Kina snickered. "Oh it's not that bad."
I chuckled. "Of course. You would say that."
"That was so realistic. I mean, you know, except for the whole stopping in midair thing." Daisy commented, discussing what happened while they were in the framework.
Phil shrugged. "I don't know. I think it might play out a little differently in real life."
"So, you can feel in there?" Mack asked.
Leo nodded. "Yeah, well, it's the Framework. It's an immersive sensory experience."
"It was designed as a training exercise ...a way for agents to practice sparring or jungle insertions and the like." Jemma explained.
"Yeah, you can still feel pain while inside. That's why I stopped the simulation before you hit the wall because..." Leo trailed off.
"Painful." Mack answered, finishing his sentence. "Got it."
"So, May's locked up somewhere but being held in a virtual reality like this? What, to keep her placid?" Phil questioned.
"Radcliffe said she was in the Framework." Mack added.
"Yeah, but this is a contained prototype. It's got limited simulations." Leo pointed out.
"If Radcliffe said he built a world, he must have built a separate, more powerful version." Jemma elaborated.
"But if it's separate, how will we find it?" I inquired.
"Run a search. Try and locate traces of the source code." Leo explained. "I might be able to locate where Radcliffe is running his new version, and..."
"And that's where we'll find May." Phil said, finishing his sentence.
"Easier said than done. It sounds tedious." Kina mentioned.
"It will be difficult, but we've faced worse." Leo commented.
Jemma nodded. "Surely this can't be any worse."
"I hope not..." I muttered.
At that moment, Davis entered with Ahsoka no doubt with news of the Director.
"Sir, the GPS signal we're tracking on The Director's suit...We've locked in on the location." Davis informed us.
"Where?" Phil asked.
"Nome, Alaska." Ahsoka replied.
"Then we'll go at once." Phil ordered.
Once we reached Alaska, Mack, Daisy, and I made our way to a building that looked abandoned while the others stayed behind. Alaska was definitely cold, reminding me of Ilum. As we searched the premises with flashlights, we found Jeffrey's suit.
