We looked around to see the forest still intact. Birds were chirping, and there was a beautiful river in the back. I stood behind May, Daisy, Kina, and Hilna. Typho, Mike, Areria, Ahsoka, Erol, Allie, Piecor, and Mack, who was recording, all stood in the back, watching them with smiles.
Once Leo approached Jemma, his smile widened. "Wow. You look stunning."
Jemma chuckled. "I'm pinned into this thing in 30 different places. It was the, um, only wedding dress at the secondhand shop, apparently. They couldn't find you a kilt?"
Leo shook his head. "Uh no."
"Dearly beloved, we are gathered here today for a moment we all knew was coming, some of us even before these two did, and I think we can all agree that to wait even one second to do this is playing with fire." Phil began. "All in favor?"
At that same time we all said aye, causing Leo and Jemma to laugh. And so Phil went on. "The ayes have it. So, alright...time for the exchanging of the vows, I guess."
Jemma took out a piece of paper before taking a deep breath. "I had to write it down...Fitz, I knew from the moment I saw you, from our first conversation about dielectric polarization, that you'd be in my life for a long time. But I didn't know you would be my life. My heart. My home. We joined this team for adventures and got more than we had hoped."
Jemma got emotional as tears of joy filled her eyes. "But I can't wait for our next adventure building a family together. My love for you grows deeper and always will, no matter where the universe takes us next."
I couldn't help but wipe the tears from my eyes, getting emotional myself. I turned to see Daisy also wiping the tears from her eyes. Phil then looked over at Leo. "Agent Fitz?"
Leo then cleared his throat. "Okay, um...I have been thinking about what to say. Just words don't really seem enough."
Leo then took Jemma's hands, placing them in his. "I think that you are perfect. And, um...I don't deserve you, Jemma. I don't...I don't deserve you. And I'm well-aware that I'm the luckiest man on any planet."
My heart warmed as I looked at them. They were so adorable. I just can't believe they're getting married. Phil nodded. "Okay. Let's have the rings. Quickly, please, before this forest collapses around us."
Piecor then handed Leo the rings. Phil tried to move it along as fast as he could. "Okay, Fitz, repeat after me. 'With this ring'."
"With this ring." Leo repeated.
"I thee wed." Phil continued.
"I thee wed." Leo said as he slipped on Jemma's ring in her finger.
"Now, by the powers vested in me by well, by the two of you, I am so happy to pronounce you husband and wife." Phil announced. "You may kiss the bride."
As soon as Leo kissed Jemma, we all cheered and clapped as Leo and Jemma laughed. As we returned to the higher floors to celebrate, we were greeted by the rest of the agents and old friends. After we ate, Deke pulled out bottles of Zima, and I knew it wouldn't be long until they would fine out. Especially since the team knew me well.
"What's wrong, Storm? You're not gonna drink some?" Daisy inquired.
Mack wore a grin before he began to tease me. "What's wrong? Can't hang anymore?"
"I'm sorry when we had a drinking contest who won?" I rebuked as I wore a smirk.
Mack sighed. "You did."
"You should have a rematch." Deke suggested. "I'll join."
Typho then chimed in. "You're all going down."
