Chapter 37: Old Ally, New Problem

Once we reached the place, Daisy, Elena, and I lowered the containment module, and got out to find Phil and May. I was relieved to see them alive and well.

"Oh. Perfect timing. Hi, everybody." Phil greeted as he helped May walk. "She's very weak."

Daisy then took May in the containment module, waiting for us.

"And Mack?" Elena asked.

"Down below. We have to keep him attached to the equipment so before we can wheel him-" Phil explained, but was cut off.

At that moment the whole place shook, Phil and I pulled back the elevator to see a huge ball of fire heading our way. That can't be good...

"Go!" Phil advised us.

All three of us ran in time, falling to the ground away from the explosion just in time to escape the flames.

"Well...looks like there's no more elevator." Phil commented.

"Where are the stairs?" Elena inquired.

"They've collapsed, too." Jemma informed us through the comms. "You need to get off the rig now. Repeat the structure is about to crumble! Guys, you need to get in the containment module and in the air!"

Elena shook her head. "No."

"You got to get in here before this rig down down!" Daisy yelled out.

"No, I won't leave without Mack, not this time!" Elena protested.

"There's no time, Yo-Yo!" I argued.

"No! We can't leave without Mack!" Elena exclaimed.

Elena was about to go back into the elevator, then Phil stopped her. "Yo-Yo, no, come on! We got to go!"

"No! Get out of there now! You have to..." Jemma trailed off.

I furrowed my brows, trying to get her back on the comms. "Jemma? What happened?"

"I have Mack. Let's go home." Jemma urged.

I looked over at Elena, who looked relieved at Jemma's words. With that all of us got into the containment module and back into the Zephyr. Turns out Aida, the former android who's now a human with Inhuman powers, saved Mack. Jemma ICEd both Aida and Leo before putting them into the containment module. As soon as we reached the playground, we all looked in horror at the damage that was done.

"My God. Who did this?" May asked.

"You did. To stop him from coming after us." Daisy explained.

"Who?" Phil inquired.

"You." Jemma replied.

Both Phil and May looked at us in utter confusion. Yeah...they missed quite a bit, especially May.

"The android versions of yourself did this." I clarified.

Once we walked into the base, we looked around at the damage with flashlights. I looked around in horror. Looks like our base is gone. Once Jemma lowered the containment module into the room, we began to refuel. We then met up back in the landing bay of the Zephyr.

"Looks like we weren't detected flying in." May informed us.

"We can't stay long." Phil advised us. "Probably shouldn't have come here."

"We have to refuel. Also, we had no choice." Jemma pointed out.

"Because of that room?" Elena asked.

"It's the only place that can contain Aida's teleportation ability." Jemma explained.

"It's outfitted with technology we used to stop Gordon, the first guy we encountered with that particular skill set." Phil added.
