I know he would worry
If he saw what I thought.
I know he wants me to be ok
Even when I'm not.
I know he tries to understand
Even when it's a lot.
I know he is far away right now,
But I'm telling myself he is here.
I know he says he will never leave,
So I won't let myself fear.
I know he sees me for more
When I feel like the trembling deer.
I know he will see this in the morning,
But right now I can't care.
I know he knows where we stand,
So I guess this feels fair.
I know right now I can't be with him,
But I hope he feels me there.
I know he may ask about what I wrote,
But I just write what I write.
I know he cares about me,
So I need him to know I am all right.
I know these hours feel long,
But together we always find a light.
