I care too much.
I care too much about everything-
Everything they say and think
About me.
I care too much about everyone-
Everyone who comes near me.
I care too much about every thought-
Every thought that crosses my mind.
I care too much.
One word will push me
Over the line.
One look will strangle
Me with its simple suggestions.
One person will break me
With the overwhelming possibilities
Of existence.
I worry-
Worry about you worrying,
Worry about someone new coming
Or someone old leaving
Or any change at all.
But change gives me
A choking hope
That gets me high
Before yanking me to the ground
With a shocking thud.
I care too much,
Putting too much trust in you
And too little in myself.
I care too much,
Letting my emotions kill me.
I care too much
About how much I care,
So I'll keep caring,
And I'll keep breaking,
And one day I may fall apart...
Ok I won't...
But I'll still care too much,
Always too much
About all of you
And everything.
